Second, best thing to do is bust your ass in physical therapy. If they haven't already, you'll get some take home exercises, DO THESE RELIGIOUSLY. Also, it doesn't hurt to take some time on the web looking on the web for extra exercises to do, but ask you're doctor or physical therapist before doing anything too crazy.
In the meantime, while you've got a brace or cast on, work on core exercises, it'll help your skiing a lot! get one of those exercise balls and do all the core exercises you can find.
