so i just got my donner partys mounted with 06/07 fks 155s (which was very difficult to say the least), bring them home, and start fidling with them and notice i can adjust the forward pressure by spinning the heel arms with my fingers. this scared me. i really dont want to ski on these now. has something similar happend to anyone? is it possible to get a replacement for the heel but not the baseplate?
im not an expert on this, but my heels on mine are completely trashed. both the plastic pieces that sit between the heel and screw are pretty much gone or half there, all the joints are just sorta loose in general i guess you could say. i can turn those cylinder things w/ my hands too, though maybe they are supposed to do that? idk, but they stay in place no matter what, they never move on their own, since it sorta clicks w/ each rotation. still releases and holds fine. I wonder to this day how they still work, but they do. i rode them 160 days last year like this, released maybe 10 times at most all year, all of which were definately times when i should have. i beat the shit out of them and somehow they just keep on working.
i can spin the ones on my park skis with my fingers too...i just make sure to re-adjust them whenever im at the lodge or before/after a day of skiing. Im considering dripping some medium thread lock into the arm to stop it from turning by itself..has anyone done that before?
It looks like its spinning easily because the housing is broken, atleast thats what i can gather from the picture. Easy spinning is really no big deal, one of my pairs does it, i havent noticed it move really all of last season. The part that is perpendicular, the cam, looks to be split in the second picture. its tough to tell from the picture though
yeah i mean call rossi and see if they will send parts. I heard from my rep though that there was no part support this year for the new ones atleast, because i wanted to order new bases for mine, but only the old ones are available as of yet. I dont think the part you broke would be replaceable because its not really ever supposed to come out. All in all, it cant hurt to call rossi, they may send you the baller orange ones
yeah, im pretty sure both of those little disk pieces are between the screw and the heel are gone are half way there on mine, they've been like that for a year, they still work fine. ill double check when i get home.
call rossi just to ask though, im curious as well if its really an issue
