My dad just told me that i could just get a laptop for Christmas. But it cant be a Mac because there so expensive. So whats the best non mac laptop. The things most important to me are battery life because I travel a lot, HD screen and obviously speed. I would also like memory but its not too important.
at least 4 gig of ram, at least 2.0 dual processor, and 500 g hdd, and screen 1600x900 resolution, mic and webcam... any other q's and pm me, i can link you to stuff that meets these requirements for less than 700 dollars with a dell warantee... god knows, if you get a deal as good as i do it will come with a kickass sound card and a backlit keyboard with full 1920x1080 resolution (the highest it gets for laptops under 16")
im fucking cool
Like another poster said, asus. Great quality and components for the price.
Go on newegg or ncix and check out the computers in your price range. Read reviews and stuff. Take your time picking, you dont want to end up with a shit computer. You have till christmas so just research research research.
i have had lots of pc laptops, mostly hp ones, and now have a mac... honestly worth the extra money, the pc laptops pretty much get completely fucked after a year of use and are pieces of garbage after that, while the mac has had zero problems
if you go dell you have to go with their most expensive laptops because the cheaper ones are so poorly made the internal components fry the hard drive, happened to me twice already and they just send new hard drives rather than fix the problem. I'd get a good hp. i never got into macs, i've used them plenty and they just don't do it for me. but from people who have them say they love them.

word...my school pulled some shenanigans on me and i had to buy a pc laptop from them for my major, and being a loyal mac user, i was never a fan...after a week of using it, it would take massive shits all over my stuff just about every day. I finally said fuck it and bought a new mbp and started running windows on it for my major (CAD). Now i have a $1200 brick of plastic sitting in my drawer. Im hoping to sell it to an unknowing frosh next year haha
