I want some carving skis

for days when there is no fresh and  im not feeling park.  you know those days when you just want to rip down some groomers and lay down some super high speed turns.  or just use gapers as moving gates to race through... yeah those days.  So i am 6'3" 195lbs and i have never raced, but am a III+ skier and am looking for a race ski most likely something that can do long and medium turns with ease, i don't need a turny slalom ski.    so all you racers give me some advice.

Most companies make a ski like the one you are after, a more consumer-orientated carving ski that is tuned down just a little from an FIS race stock ski in terms of construction, materials, flex, and usually price. Check out Rossi, Volkl, and Atomic, who all 3 have some good racing roots and make that type of ski.

Dude buy my 175 Rossi R11 Radicals.  Brand new, never skied.  Looking for $350 shipped.  They were $1400 last year.  I bought em on proform, but never rode them.

salomon also makes a nice ski. Before i started freeskiing i loved my salomons.

get pair of the new motherships, thats what i use mine for when the snow was shit and it was to dangerous to get into the steeps., except one time i used someone more like a moving target, then a pylon. it wasn't pretty. they like biiiiig turns.
my buddy has moment m1's they can rail.

I have to agree. My dad has a pair and they f'n rip it. I have ridden a lot of face skis and these things just fucking rip. they arnt oriented towards racing anything but your shadow. Or reflextion, considering they have mirrors on them...

These skis rip it though.

Id reccomend the Rossignol Z series just get ones with axial bindings. You could also pick up last seasons pretty cheap on evo.

fischer RC4 series, i'm rocking some 2007's and wouldn't want to trade these race babies for any softer carver...

fischer is probably tho only racing ski company that hasn't jumped onto the freeskiing industry like a madman...

I love fischer for staying loyal to what they do best...

go on your local craigslist and look for race skis IMO any GS ski will rip it. Or hit up a racer, sometimes the'll unload their old (old for a race = like 10 races) for cheap

I just happened to list those 3 companies, Fischer is great as well but as stated above they have yet to get as heavily involved in the type of ski he is looking for. I love Fischer race skis though, probably my favorite behind Atomic.

i picked up a pair of nordica mach 2 super speed's last year....such a fucken sick ski so much fun and since it was at the end of the year i got them for like 460 bucks
