I dropped my Dell laptop the other day while it was running. when i opened the computer everything was frozen, so i tried restarting it. when windows restarted the blue screen came up with the message that there was an error with the harddrive. its currently being worked on but i used this as my excuse to pick up a macbook pro.
anyone else ever encounter the blue screen of death?
i dropped my dell laptop once and got the same blue screen. i bought a new hard drive off ebay and put it in myself. a little formatting and my laptop was good as new. and im not a computer whiz either.

my midi card was loose and I got the infamous bsod yesterday. I was upset because I had a new song I was working on not backed up...then I realized I nhever screwed the damn thing in and it was probably loose. easy fix!
My hard drives are refurbs and every once in a while I get the blue screen of death from them, but as far as I can tell there really is nothing wrong with them (asside from bringing this up every once in a while) I have never lost data in 4 years.
