Should I wax my new reno jibs?
yes. i did
if you dont do it this year ull be one year older when you do-warren miller
they're probably waxed so i wouldn't invest in letting a shop wax it, but if you have the tools, feel free! it's a bit like foreplay.... ;)

its almost pointless to wax brand new skis unless you have some graphite wax or something.
enjoy the factory wax while it lasts
wax your skis alot before you ride them. factory wax doesn't really get into the base as much as a few good hot (iron)waxes and scrapes before you even ski them.
yea, factory wax is usually just a roll on hot coat to keep them from drying out. with new skis, its important to wax them up really good to saturate the base with wax. with new skis, i usually detune them real good, and then throw on at LEAST 2 coats of softer wax, and then possibly something more suited to temperature.

dude i double docked a yacht today. epic. smelled so bad in the open air. i had to stand up to finish it off. it was like a black guy's arm coming out of my ass. -wiRIPPER2
put multiple layers on and you might want to just leave it on instead of scraping to give it more time before it hits p tex
