My physics class is doing an egg drop lab in which we are going to make things to keep eggs from breaking. The thing surrounding the egg to protect it has to be smaller than 8"x8"x8" so what are some good materials/ good containers to use? is a glad tub or whatever a good thing to have the egg and whatever in?

well i would work from the inside out
first you need to build some sort of protection around the egg. Think of an Arc Bridge, how stress on the bridge gets trasfered. you need to do something like that around the egg with some padding in between. this will absorb all the stress and keep it away from the egg. then around that, i suggest you just pad the fuck out of it

Shit that's all you have to do? I had to do an egg drop. But we had to design a rocket that the egg contraption could be loaded into and shot into the air. So the egg was dropping from like 100M in the air.
All you do is use foam, and use low density foam on the inner layer and have the foam get denser and denser as you get further away from the egg.
