When do you know when your boots are dead?

Just curious to see everyone opinions and facts on this.  When your heal piece/bottom of boot is worn down to the plastic?  when shin insole is too worn in?  Belt buckles working improperly?

i will ski the same boot as long as i can, i swap out buckles/tounges when needed , liners every year, to keep them going, i put a lot of work into them to make them perfect, but as soon as my din sole is warn to much(heals are changeable toes are not on FT's/reichelle)  that they are not testing properly i pull all the parts i can off them and start a new shell.

take a few detailed pictures of your din soles and post it here i may be able to tell you pretty quick.

some companies have both replaceable....my tecnicas have replaceable heels & toes.

When not even duct tape will fix them, or the liner is SO packed out that it's a whole size bigger.

I know kids who have boots and the top buckle is missing - they just tighten up the power strap and go...haha.

i remember hearing somewhere that shells are only supposed to be good for 200 days. im assuming the plastic and everything just gets worn and looses its rigidity. im not 100% on that though....i have 300 days in two years on mine, and i can tell the plastic is shot, so are the toes, even after trying so hard to take care of them
