Top 5 Skiers All Around

I'm getting hated on super hard over at TGR for basically telling them they're all delusional in making their lists of the top "all around" skiers, ie skiers who can do everything... Curious to see if Newschoolers is equally out to lunch in their perspective on these matters. Who is at the top of the sport right now when you consider all aspects of it in your opinion? Go.

People that I feel need at least a mention as some of the All time greats:

1. Seth Morrison
2. Jeremy Nobis
3. Shane McConkey

And to people saying every list has to include Jon Olsson I have one question (granted, I don't follow park and jibbing that much cause I think backcountry rippers are more fun to watch) when was the last time Olsson was in the backcountry (and I don't mean a booter sesh, I mean full on backcountry skiing) or better yet, when was the last time Olsson hit a rail?

Also, others are saying Candide Thovex belongs on the list. Last time I checked all around means they do, EVERYTHING. Candide does park, mega hips, and BC booters... no BC skiing. He doesn't belong on this list.

I know, I listed Seth Morrison in my original list cause I am a fanboy of Seth Morrison the way most of NS is fanboys (or fangirls) of Tom Wallisch. He doesn't belong on this list either, same as Hugo Harrison, Jeremy Nobis, Jeremy Jones, Ian McIntosh, and Shane McConkey (may he rest in peace and rip lines in heaven) do not belong on this list.

And don't get me wrong about these two guys, they are both amazing skiers and have done a lot of stuff for this industry. Candide definitely belongs on a list of the all time greats in park skiing but he isn't up to where he used to be. Olsson (even with all the shit guys on NS give him for looking like a girl) belongs on the same sort of list.

You're saying "allround" means everything and pointing that Jon Olsson isn't doing BC nowadays.. I guess you're right on that but every thing means park pipe and co too.. And last time I checked guys like CR Johnson or Sage or Seth isn't doing much park nowadays right?

The fact is Jon was winning freeride comps back in the days and when you know how to ride that kind of terrain, you'll know all your life. Wich is a bit different for park. Come on the dude won some all mountain comp, he won in pipe, he is right now competing in racing, and he's in the top 5 in Big air and still dominating... On top of that, Jon is 10x better in rails than most of you top 5 list. So don't hold this against him please.

As for allround, you have to pick him.

As for Candide, he's just back from a MASSIVE injury and dropped the most jaw dropping BC edit we've seen in a long time... And before his injury he won X game slopestyle. And before that he won X pipe, and before that he was the first to clear Chad's.. annnd before that he was competing in moguls. The guy is a legend and still ripping like no one else if you ask me.

As for one think CR is nowhere the level of Candide... And by this I mean in every aspect of skiing.

And I put the guys I put on my remade list because I feel they are great all around, and having met them all I can say that they are all incredibly decent and humble people. That to me says a lot and added into my choices for putting them on the list.

I wasn't saying he is a horrid skier. I was just saying from what I had seen of him (granted, I haven't seen much outside of the recent TGR and MSP vids cause I am always broke and those companies have the type of segments I like to watch) it was always Big Air stuff from his invitational and BC booters.

I would say CR's injury was much more serious than Candide's. Before their respective injuries I would put CR ahead in the big mountain realm, Candide in the park realm. They are both examples of great all-around skiers. At this point, I would also put Candide above CR, but CR is still coming back. At their best, I would probably give it to CR, although it is close.

If CR had not gotten hurt he would be up there with Tanner and Henrich Windstedt in my opinion.

1. Abma, there is nothing this guy can't do.

2.tudor, i had the chance to see him in CB a couple times at the US extremes, and i think he has the most raw skiing talent, just hasnt grown into it all yet

3 pep, legend.

4. sage, the best big mountain skiier IMO, and has sick park segments in old rage films

5. tanner, king of park but still workin in the BC
