"several fields, sweet parks, heaps of terrain and possible pow"
sounds like maybe nebraska? they have tons of corn and wheat fields among other crops, i'm sure their parks and recreation divisions do a nice job, especailly in the larger cities, the terrain there is flat, but it is a big state, so there is def. heaps of it, and it does snow there in the winter.
as long as you enjoy 40 mph winds and -30 degree temps the midwest brings to the table you can go play in the parks and hike the fields of terrain in the snow before it crusts over into some icy/snow hybrid in wonderful nebraska.
If this was a year ago i would say go to Whistler and let that be the end of it. It really does have everything you could possibly want as a ski bum. But this year with the olympics and millions of people....
I did a lot of skiing in BC last summer and BC is fucking awesome. The snow is incredible. Red mtn in Rossland is sweet too. Nice town also.
