HOLY SHIT Cop killed in Seattle Last Night (Halloween)

this happened a block away from my friends' house. jesus christ

i know you guys are all gonna say "oh cops suck, i hate them" but really, this was just blatant murder.

yeah they bust up your drinking and give you some trouble, but that's their job.

So, next time you think about how much you may dislike cops, think about all they've done for you.

Recently, Seattle has been gaining a lot of press about terrible, unfortunate tragedies like this. You've probably all seen my thread from last halloween when my friend Quincy was shot and killed.

Also this summer a well known kid (who i didn't actually know, but many of my friends did) named Aaron Sullivan (aka Sully) was shot and killed by an AK-47. That's ridiculous. Why should anyone own a fucking AK? In addition, another kid named Aufu was shot in the back last month and was nearly paralyzed. Also yesterday there was a shooting on Martin Luther King Way, and I'm not sure who the victim was yet, but the shooting was fatal.

Basically, I'm going on a rant about violence (especially gang violence) because it's so absolutely ridiculous. So, although I'm sure not a lot of you have participated or plan to partake in such acts, but think about what you say. I guess that's what I'm trying to tell you.

A cop was killed yesterday. Many people I know or have heard of have been killed, and i'm a white high school kid who doesn't even smoke or drink. That goes to show you that gang violence can affect people that have nothing to do with it at all.

So, R.I.P. Q, Sully, Aufu, and everyone else including the cop.

this is prob the stupidest thing ive ever posted, but i just saw twilight (actually awsome movie) at like 3 am last night at a wierd party, and the vampires all lived in washington or something, and they killed people randomly and others had no explanation of the attacks...

no. i don't live in the ghetto.

i live in an upper-middle class neighborhood (north capitol hill for anyone that knows seattle)

but, i have lots of friends who live in the garfield area, which is "hood" kind of.

it's no south end, but it's got it's fair share of ghetto-ness i guess.

i go to garfield, and i never feel unsafe, and neither do my friends that live in that area, because they aren't involved in gangs.

murders really aren't that uncommon on halloween. considering that everyone is out, drinking and partying, there is a pretty good chance people are gonna get into fights and stuff. also, since everyone is out, it is a good time for retaliation shootings because of the fact you can disappear into crowds at night easily, and the person you are looking for is most likely outside. the fact that a cop got shot sucks bad though; if you kill a cop its automatic life sentence and a chance of the dp

The cops are the enemy to lots of young poor people. But with him being a father, that's pretty sad.
I guess the lesson of the thread is don't be a cop...


How has violence been in the states lately? Has it been increasing or decreasing or just kinda the same as it's always been?

Yeahh man last year on haloween, the homie Richard that used to play tuba outside the key arena all the time got the shit beat out of him until he was dead.  This guy was like 50 some years old and obviously had mental problems and was always super nice to everyone.

All the highschool kids getting shot around here is fucking ridiculous though.

our school gets such a bad name because of retards.

the thing is, i probably get a better education than everyone else in seattle with all of the AP options at garfield.

I was in the area when it happened and there were about 30 police cruisers rolling around and blocking off the street clearly searching for someone. I expected it to be some sort of retribution for Quincy Coleman's death a year ago because the scene last night was only 3 blocks from my school, where Quincy was killed. Seattle has been developing a pretty bad gang violence problem recently and I expect that the events of last night will really provoke some action by the police and community. Nobody even knows why this cop was killed anyways...

I went to highschool at seattle center (corny) and the coolest shit about tuba man (aka wolfman) was that if he was in the vicinity, which he often was you could howl like a wolf and he would garunteed howl back wherever he was.  I think it was because he was on a commercial for that radio station the wolf once.

Garfield is pretty weird like that way basically being two schools.  On one side fools are getting shot and on the other side there's all the white kids taking AP classes and going to great colleges.

It's all about the racial tension in this city and no one wants to admit it.

One of the guys who did that went to my school and committed the crime, like Abe said, after our homecoming dance. Those guys also jumped two kids I know but they got away and called police. When the police came, the kids were beating up the tuba man, clearly an innocent bystander. I don't know if these kids have something to prove or want to act hard but it's extremely stupid to go looking for trouble when you're so young and you have a degree of potential. The kid who went to my school had recently been trying to clean his life up and do better in school by joining the urban league scholars program but a rash decision got him locked up instead

Garfield is really weird because you essentially have two schools in one. the AP school for all the genius kids in Seattle, and then the "other" school for everyone else. It really sucks because GHS is a good school yet there are so many people in the "other" part of the school that just drain on the schools rep. You never hear about anything good coming out of GHS on the news, only the bad.

On the other hand, Roosevelt is just dumb. We have a bunch of good classes up here, but the school district keeps on taking them away because apparently they cost too much money. What a load of shit. On the plus side, RHS doesn't really have any gang activity going on, and most of the kids who were in gangs have gotten expelled from school because they always acted like idiots.

UUUUUUHHHHHH, the AK shoots a 7.62mm round mang. A .223 is equal to a 5.56 which is what the AR15, M16, SAW, and M4 shoots. The AK, M60, M14, and M1 shoot the 7.62.... An AK will also seriously screw you up if you are hit by one.

i'm saying i wouldnt want to be a cop, as of it's basically the same thing as joining a gang. You'll have instant enemy's because of your gang colors (uniform's same thing as any gang color).

i'm not one that wants to be targeted by poor youth who don't know no better but to join gangs because

a) they have no family
and
b) they have no money

now on top of that, poor people with no blood family, will probably do anything for their new "family" ie - gang. They want to impress their leaders, make em proud so they can get respect. These people come from broken homes.

also, i don't know how it is everywhere else, but where im at, the poor people are havin kids, not raising them, then those kids are running buck wild, making kids they wont raise.

stabbings and shootings are increasing in my area, i don't wanna throw myself in the middle of all that.

just thinking logically... fuck.
