My volume broke?

Hey guys, my volume broke.  I use a mac (please no debates) and when I try to change the volume the little icon is gray and underneath the volume bar this the circle with a slash through it symbol.  It works fine when I plug my headphones in, but as soon as I unplug them I get the aforementioned problem.

Does anyone have any knowledge on the situation?

And please no mac vs pc debates, I just want to fix my computer.

did u trying messing with anything in your system preferences under sounds??? that could fix your problem.

Yea, the bar is just gray and non-clickable, it's weird.

It happens sometimes if my headphones aren't plugged in properly. annoying and yeah it's not software it's a physical problem

yea dude try the setttings my friend slipt like grape drank on his mac and he said it was broke but then i changed his settings and it was fine .

My internal speakers breaking has nothing to do with the fact that it's a PC or a Mac.

Grape juice on apples doesn't work at all. Try apple juice or cider.
