Urban Rail Preperation?

The things that I know I need are needed to hit urban:
1. Speed
2. A nice lip that'll get you up onto the rail
3. Possibly salt to harden-up the lip
4. A landing (duh)


Is there anything that I need to do to the rail itself before hitting it? Wax? Scraping? Any help would be great.

i find that lubrication is necessary. licking the rail every 15-20 mins is usually sufficient.

file out any burrs in the rail, then maybe some wax, or snow on the sliding surface for teh slippeez

make sure the rail is well lit if it's at night. It sucks when you think there is enough light from some street lights and it ends up being super dark and you can't see shit.

this. especially if you are filming. unless you've got tripod lights or some other crap set up, the video ALWAYS turns out darker than what it looked like in person if you're hitting it at night. investing in a few shop lights and extension cords can go a long way to help you get a better shot.
