How to Take Apart Splices

I posted this in the BST Official Trade Thread, but I figured this would be a better place.

First of all, everything on the splice comes apart exactly the same as Crowbars EXCEPT the strap from the riggers, so I'm just going to show you how to do that. I'll post the "How to Take apart Crowbars" video unless someone beats me to it so you can see that. The lens is slightly different to, but really self-expanitory.

All parts taken apart:

strap off just find this notch:

Then, put something in there (flat head screwdriver works best):

Then, pry it off easily:

To put it back, just pop it in.

I hope those pics work, if not I'll fix them later as well.

yup, and it's WAY easier, it just pops off with a screwdriver instead of trying to thread everything through the rigger.

Here's the video of how to take apart Crowbars (credit to .Brink for the video). Remember, the Lens is sorta different (but easy enough to figure out - I started with the top - it was easier), and the removing the strap is shown above - everything else is the same (removing riggers from frame, splitting the strap, ect.)

I just found out that Splices are MORE customizable than C-Bars - the stud on the front can be removed and interchanged with others!

yeah, I'm thinking they'll end up being more popular than crowbars some day - everyone I've talked to that's worn them is super stoked on them.

I think they fit pretty much identical.  Some of them are really sick, but some of them look gay with those studs in them.  I'm probably 50/50 between Splices and Crowbars, both sick in their own way.

My Crowbars always pinched my nose (mostly cause I sag them - but even without the sag they pinched slightly), but the Splices don't pinch at all, plus they're lower profile so you don't need to sag them, they already look sagged. Also, the stud can come out completely too.

i completely agree with you about the crowbars pinching, i thought that the stud on the splices was actually another vent(kind of like the a frames), but i guess i was wrong

I'm pretty sure only the lens comes out, the strap might come off, but I'm not sure - if it does it would be done by lifting the plastic part attached to the strap up and away from the frame. I don't think the strap comes apart from the "riggers" on the a-frame. Hope that helps.

so if i wanted murdered out splices should i get black irid or grey polarized?  how dark is the grey, and can you see through it?  i my eyes to be concealed.  +k  for help.   sorry for thread jack

i still dont understand how you pop them out, is it that little circly thing sticking out? when i try to press it even with the end of a screwdriver they dont come out?

This was made with the original version of the splice. I believe that they've changed the studs slightly so now they don't come out. I'm not sure because I haven't seen a later version of them, but I've heard from some people that they can't get them out now.

oh shit ok. with the old ones did you just press on that little circular shaped thing on the inside of the goggles and they would pop out? i am trying to get them out of the pep fujas pair i think they are? yellow with blue and red..

Used the search bar and this thread seems to be the most relevant: I'm trying to determine if these are actually splice riggers/strap or just an updated crowbar design? I want to swap the black/orange strap with the yellow/white, but looking at the outriggers they're slightly different - could someone tell me if it's possible or are the strap ends different and won't work. Thanks
