Just got the new cd, Beggars, and I must say again they killed it. It amazes me how each cd has evolved so much and although changed, still contains thrice. My favorites so far are in exile, beggars, and wood and wire. From start to finish it is a great cd i think. Opinions?
Oh god, is it anything like any of their albums since Artist in the Ambulance? They went downhill with that album, shit sucks. Identity Crisis and The Illusion of Safety owned, I was too sickened by their new stuff to get into it. Same shit happened to Thursday...In a BIG way.
They have for many years. god damn shame. actually, same shit happened to modest mouse. Once MTV gets a hold of anything, those bands begin the downward slide towards catering to the MTV pop crowd.
If you are expecting a cd like illusion of safety or identity crisis, then you will probably be disappointed. since the first 2 albums, they have changed their style up a lot. I normally hate when bands do it but with thrice i dont feel like it is to make "popular' music as lots of bands do. I just think their interests have changed and i think they are pretty successful at it. To put out stuff like identity crisis 9 years later would be damn impressive. this one is somewhate like their older stuff, but most of the album is different.
