Best Park Ski for me?

okay im in the market for some new park skis and there are so many choices i really dont know where to start. I definetly want it to be on the softer side (butterable) but still moderatly stiff so i dont wash out every time i hit a decent sized jump. Im not the greatest park skier but i would really like to progress this season. i want to learn some bigger spins so something with a low swing wieght. and it has to be durable i want these to last. i am 5' 11" 160lbs.

liberty LTEs, armada thall, ar6, alpha 2, line anthem, atomic punx, moment reno rocker, line chronic, surface watchlife would all work depending on preferences..

im pretty sure ar6s and chronics are very still and not evne close to butterable

had this discussion before.

Chronics are very stiff and very difficult to butter...however, AR6s are actually VERY soft, but not noodley like anthems or invaders. Armada put a lot of time into the flex pattern of the AR6s and THalls and in fact the AR6s have been described as "softer than thalls" by some people, however these things can take HUGE jumps cause out the stiffer tail profile, but you can still tail butter cause it's easier to get your weight back there.

I'd say look into AR6s, THalls, Anthems, and Afterbangs.

no problem - like I said, I've had that discussion before, it's a very common thought.

The Alphas are DOPE, soft and stable, can go anywhere and butters and presses are made easier by the rocker. If you have the cash go for it for sure.

i just searchbared them and one kid said they arent good for throwing 5s of smaller jumps and playing around on small rails. they are better for throwing 9s and 10s of big stuff. is this true?

I would think the opposite, I don't see a reason the ANY ski would be good a big jumps and rails but crappy on smaller ones, I can see the other way around happening, but I just can't see a ski being crappy on small features.

got em instead of my old pipe cleaners whit a more playful and "turny" ski in my mind. but no. the are not very god at rails and 5s on small jumps. but when you are going big they are great. very god stability on big jumps and easy to land on 9s and 10s. and the rocker/elf shoe works great in the pipe you are going to just jump on smal jumps and rails i would not buy these ones. if you are going to hit some big jumps and are going big in the pipe the alpha 1s are a great choice. but i would rather get the pipe cleaners or ar6

well the alpha 1 is a more deluxe verison of the alpha 2.. pretty much pipe cleaner to ar6

Armada T-Hall 176cm would be perfect for you ... Ridiculously easy to butter yet very stable on huge kickers! Word ...

I dunno, it just seems weird that they would work on big jumps but not little ones. I would look at the Hornbeck edit when he first got on Armada (I'll look for it, if I find it I'll post it) and you'll see how they work.

just as good as AR6s - the main difference between the too is the flex pattern, the AR6 has a soft nose and stiff tail, the THall has a soft nose and tail (but the nose isn't as soft as the AR6). The flex point on the THall is pulled closer to underfoot to make butters really easy, but it still handles very well on groomers.

T Hall on groomers ... Turn initiation very easy, hold a solid edge with the beefy underfoot section but dont expect to accelerate hard after the apex of a turn with the soft tail but yea i enjoy the "washy" sensation when pullin big GS style turns ...

heard they softened up the liberty lte's, but still a great park ski with a stiff base to give you stability on those big landings

I just picked up some watchlifes and they have a really smooth nice even flex to them, definitely butterable, but not noodles like my anthems I had last year.
