K2 Obsethed 179 V.S. 189

Yo what up NS, I am looking to buy the 2010 Obsethed ski this year...But I can't decide what size I should get, and wanted to get your opinion. First off as far as I understand the true measurements of these are either 183/4 or 193/4 respectively. But with the rocker that starts 20mm out from either side how "short" do they actually ski?

I'm an aggressive skier, that likes to go fast and straight but also carve hard and make big GS turns. I'm 6'0 160 and 19 years old, so idk maybe I'll still grow a bit. I ski stowe VT. These skis would be primarily for shredding hard and riding pow. I have another pair of park skis. My biggest concern is how well the 189's would handle in the trees... Otherwise I am sort of leaning toward buying the 189's. Let me know what you think.

if your not doing much jibbing on them, and instead mobbing steep and deep, i would say 189, but thats just me

189's for sure.

aggressive skier, you have a park ski, ur 6'0 and using these for pow, has to be the 189.

yeah, NO question, 189. im about the same weight as you, but shorter, and while the 179s shred plenty hard, longer skis shred harder. dont worry about the rocker, people flip out about it, then realise it does nothing negative to the way they ski. it makes them slide around a little more when flat like a shorter ski (a good thing), and they initiate turns quicker and with less effort. as soon as you get into a carve, its just like a regular cambered ski. rocker is the shit, manueverbility of a short ski, stability of a big one.

but yea, 189s. Specially if your still planning on putting some mass on (at 160 and 6 ft, you prolly will). they are awesome skis, youll like um

thanks a lot for the input guys. So my biggest worry of the 189's being to long and therefore hard to maneuver in the trees, is pretty much compensated for by the rocker on them, which will make them turn a little quicker and overall slay pow to begin with.

Just mesured and it is about 193 (did it by myself so i could be off by a bit)  I assume the 179's run about 183.

189s no doubt. I feel that it skis a big shorter than the 193 that it measures.

i'd go 179 if i were you  i'm pretty close to your height and weight and skied them a few times the 189 just felt awkward and not alot of fun in the trees, much more verstitile in 179 unless you like to go straightline alot of coulairs.

im quite a bit shorter than you and thought my 179 sethvicious were short, go with the 189.

I ride the 189 and its fully legit ... Good for chargin but you can still throw it round and act da fool ... I mounted @ +6cm and that was perfect :)
