Diving Board practicing for skiing

I've been using diving boards for awhile this summer and fall, i can do spins pretty well with a variety of grabs, off axis stuff, etc.

I've used diving boards in past summers/falls but never really concentrated on spinning.

Has it helped anyone with spinning/grabbing on skis?

I learned some off axis stuff, like backflips, on diving boards over the summer.  I never really try to spin or anything off of them though cause the motion of springing off and then trying to whip around a spin is just really awkward feeling.  I think diving boards are best if you wanna learn off axis rotations and flips, but with spinning, you're better off using a trampoline.

Agreed. spinning off a diving board just isnt even close to spinning on skis.  just stick to practicing flips and shit

or just have fun on the diving boards! even if spinning isn't the same I still have fun learn cork 10's and and trying out double misty's!

trampoline is probably the best thing to use for practicing tricks. it gives you good air awareness, and you can get a lot more jumps in then on a diving board.

It helps for forward rotations. Mistys and bios definitely came easier for me on snow after I'd thrown a ton of them off diving boards.

Diving boards are good for getting used to being upside down and becoming comfortable with trying new things, which are both really useful.  But as far as actually learning tricks, it doesn't help all that much in my experience.

any time that you are spinning and/or flipping you are gaining air awareness. Even though it might not be the same, it is helping.

i have diving board practice in 2ish hours for the cu freestyle ski team
it can be helpful for air awareness

didn't do much for spins for me too different. Helped loads with comfort and air awareness with flips though.

dude, how do you like CU?  how is their team compared to colorado college? 

thread numero dos on this subject, but yeah its fun.  I've got a misty 5 down and fronts feel amazing.  Also managed to absolutely eat shit this summer on a 25 ft gainer even though I can backflip on skis.  hard to run forward and spin back

I started to practice flips and spins off diving boards and cliffs and I personally believe it definitely helped me. It makes you more aware of where you are in the air BUT, when I brought it to the slopes, it is still quite different. My first back flip, I over rotated quite alot (Thank god the Katal Landing Pad broke my fall) as I was not use to the speed I had coming into it. That was the only diffeernce for me.
