my mom has a 2004 volvo s40 and it's amazing ... like nothing ever needs to be repaired and it gets super good mileage and it's really good in the snow i've driven it to whistler a few times and yea it's a sweeet car
I just bought a 2001 S40 1.8T.
Got a great deal on it for $3000 CDN.
I have put about $1000 into repairs (timing belt and some camshaft actuator thing) but other than that it is running awesome.
Its a pretty pimp car for a great price that will last a long time.
Let me know if you have any questions.
my biggest tip would be to go around and talk to the different volvo mechanics in your city.
The first guy I was dealing with wanted to rip me off so badly. He would never explain what the problem with my car was, he just said I need part a b and c and it was going to cost this much.
Then I find this other guy, and he tells me that the parts the first guy was suggesting weren't even broken and he ended up fixing my car and giving me an oil change for $500 cheaper than the first guy.
Anyone from Ottawa, do not go to motor medics.
