last season, i had the salomon spk's they were pretty shiity IMO. this year im looking to get new boots. Im in the park 85%-90% of the time when im skiing. im 5"8 145lbs and im riding the K2 extremes with the marker jesters. +k for those who help.
check out the alpina free 540. it is the only boot i know about with actual range of motion. i got a pair last year through my local shop (the manager there is one of the designers of the boot). The boot literally has a hinge motion rather than a flex motion, which really helps for locking on rails, but you can also lock it for all mtn. skiing. it's a huge difference in feel to anything i've tried or seen. you have all these guys like asian allen who are v-cutting their cuffs and cutting them lower to get more freedom with ankle flex, but this incorporates range of motion without compromising support. its a HUGE step in the right direction, and they feel sooo nice too!!!!!
