So the Frankfurt Motor show saw the unveiling of the New VW GTI-R - looks Epic! Should be available here early next year and i think i might order one!!

I have a Mk5 GTi with the factory VW body kit and 18in huffs.... looks pretty sweet....  the stock Mk6 looks better - Stock mk 5's had that stupid black plastic bumper so agree with you there....  

Anyway, the numbers for the new R look awesome, especially with it being AWD too...

The MK5's and the new MK6 just look retarded.  Gotta go with MK1 GTI or Rabbit or MK2 Golf GL or GTI.   Im still not the biggest fan of VW hatch's, more of a MK1/MK2 Jetta guy.

^^ Ya I have a WRX that has some stuff done to it. I love when people don't know about it and proceed to get thrown forcefully in to the back of the seat. Great to see the looks on their face haha.

People do not realise just how rapid GTi's and R32's are....   they stick like sh*t to a blanket too....   they are so torquey...    pure hot hatch heritage too...  My mk5 GTi has the DSG Gearbox, which is an engineering masterpiece....  

I personally cannot wait for the new GTi R to come out - I think it looks sick....   it will be epic fun!

mk1-mk3 period, anything else w/ the exception of the mk4 r32 is a fucking waste of money.

w/ the 30k+ id spend on that car, id rather build a show and track worthy mk2 gti vr6t  that would spank almost anything on the road.

hmm, not really, the 4wd system on the R32 was way better for getting power to the road, although it adds a bit of weight, it accelerated like a beast with the DSG box.

(before anyone quotes me saying im only 15, my dad had a Mk5 R32 for a year, as well as both Mk5 and Mk6 GTi and some stage, so i can vouch for this)

in my eurotuner magazine from 2006, there is a whole spread about the R-GTI, and it was manual, but that is probably because it was just a prototype. But i bet it will be offered in a manual in europe. I hate that it will only come in DSG if thats true. Which i wouldnt be surprised considering the mk5 r32's are only dsg's here

My bro is definitely a VW nut.  Currently he has two but between him and his roommate they've got 5, the newest being my brothers 91' (or maybe 92') GTI.  Personally I'm a fan of the MK2 GTI's.

now thats the way to do it. MK2's are sooo light compared to the newer cars. my choice would be the vr6 jetta sedan. business in the back, party in the front.

Naw.  It's just the bumperless Jetta.

The Jetta and the GTI aren't really anything special.  Just lowered and I think the GTI has an exhaust that the previous owner put on.

The Rabbit (82'), however, had a 92 GLI engine swap and was stripped of rear seats, interior upholstry, engine dampening, had some kind of exhaust, stiff and adjustable suspension and was tuned for autocross racing.  Fast and nimble little sucker.
