guys i dont want a mac!
and yes eheath is rite..im not that into games, just like to play them from time to time, so thats not a huge deciding factor!
I just picked up a Asus K40IN the other day from staples for 680 Canadian. It was a part of their back to school sale, and I love the thing.
Not to big, so it makes it portable and manageble to carry around. And a dedicated Geforce video card (though it may not be the best, I have been able to play Team Fortress 2 on it which is good enough for me)
Runs smoothly, and doesn't overheat like crazy.

I definetly suggest getting an Asus, for the money you are spending, you are pretty much guaranteed the best hardware in the laptop.
dell inspiron 15
4 gigs ram
not the greatest video card but not bad
1600 990 hd screan
2.2 ghz duo core
500 gig hard drive
and some extras
all you nned to edit hd if thats what your looking to do its right around 800, order it threw a college website and get money off i know my school gives 7 percent off, and if you have AAA dell takes anywear from 5-10 percetn off too,
shits 100 times better than any any used or new mac for under 2 g's, but than again you wont be cool since your using a pc
