i have been thinking about this for a long time now, a couple of years now. what should i study. im 16 years old and when im 18 i will leave college. what should i study then, i should probably specialize in something to get a decent job with enough money to go skiing and probably as important as the money a fun job. so i thought about the things i like... haha this is what i found out...

skiing
beeing with friends
summer activities when there is no snow

those three things are probably what i spend most of my time on when im not at school or doing homework. so what can i study after i finish college, or do you guys know anything that is fun to study or something i might like?

theres alot of options in the business or economics fields. by the time you get done with college, the shitty economic situation will probably be a little better so jobs wont be as hard to come by. and theres usually decent jobs that you can get with one of those 2 degrees

living in SLC is something i looked into. its a real nice city, you can find a job in the city and there are a bunch of sick mountains within 45 minutes of the city. unless you work a job, taking a year off to ski isnt cheap. i opted to go straight to college because i knew that if i took a year off it would be really hard to go back to school. that was just me though

I have heard that its better to go straight to school versus taking a year off because you are more likely not to return to school. Go there and get a degree, and then you can do whatever you want after.

No offense, but if you have to ask an online skiing community what you should major in, you shouldn't have the right to go to college. There are so many kids that would kill to go to a university or even a community college for christ sakes but just can't afford it and are unable to get student loans.

On that note, go into business or nursing. Both easy "fallback" degrees with lots of potential and tons of job opportunities after graduation.

just do whatever you love man, no point in becoming you don't want to be and hating every day you have to wake up to go to work.

just think of what subjects actually interest you at school, or what you like to learn about, then see if you can imagine yourself doing that for the rest of your life.

its different for everyone so we can't give specific suggestions really, and if you do take a year off, travel everywhere and see everything you can and meet everyone possible dont just ski, experience everything !

I went to keystone for a while they treat their employees like fucking family. I was in lift ops, so I dont know about others but we got little microwaveable meals and stuff everyday or they grill burgers all the time, etc. , then spent the rest of the year jumping from shitty factory job to shitty factory job, learning what I didnt like to do, and what I did

yeah so everybody that can go to college cant ask for help?

thats all im doing asking for help. i bet a kid that would kill to go to a university and gotten into one would probably ask for help once in a while...

well the problem is your post shows the interest of everyone on here, no real degree that has that. So I chose a major that will allow me to have enough money to do it, while finding a job easily anywhere I want. Maybe you should look into colorado mountain college or something they have ski resort management degrees, might be your pick

I don't know about business, but nursing is definitely not an "easy, fallback degree".  My girlfriend and some of my other close friends that are girls are in the nursing school here at Michigan State and it's pretty intense.  Between clinical hours and lectures I hardly ever see them anymore.

Tell them to come to Walla Walla Community College.
Their nursing program is easy as pie.

And saying that nursing was easy was not correct. It's actually a very difficult career choice, so I misspoke. But if you do choose to go into the medical field and graduate with your nursing degree I really doubt you would have much trouble finding a job.

it really depends. what are your current strongest subjects, and what do you enjoy most at school. i wasnt very good a at math and it bored me to shits, so i steered clear of doctor, engineer, chemistry and physics subjects as well.

down to it, i was good at art, so i stuck in there, and social stuff, so i checked out photography, and etc as well as psychology and some other social sciences.
