i live in NC and it is really sick for "NC" and we do the best we can for the space and the weather that the North Carolina moutains provide...but it is nothing compared to Whistler..but i love it!
first off, your username is ludicrous. who ever heard of anything but rain up here
secondly, I seriously hope you're joking. not trying to be an asshole but the EC is obviously flatter and more icy than the west. pretty common knowledge. If you're visiting, you can probably ski if you want to but it's not why you would visit...
its ice 90% of the time. come to the EC if you like skiing bulletproof conditions most of the time. powder is good when it is here but not even comparable to west
The main thing I dislike about the east coast is how small the mountains are. I really wish we had some mountains like revelstoke or something. I live in Vermont so I'm used to tiny "hills" like Bolton Valley(which is awesome btw)
We have some good mountains for park but I would forget powder inless your going to like jay peak and shit up there. We generally have a wet spring with a fair amount of rain. Icy winter, generally diffrent kind of snow all together.
its definitley not as good as out west, but why do you think so many pros come from the east? they learn insane tricks on shitty, icey jumps and parks and then can float them all out west.
east coast has epic powder but you gotta skin to get to it if it hasnt snowed in a couple days. theres definitely some good terrain at stowe, smuggs, gore backcountry, killington/pico backcountry, jay and tucks.
