Help me convert a video from ".file" to anything usable!
a while ago during the season my friend sent me a 15 sec clip from our day of skiing. he didnt want me to edit it or post it anywhere i believe so some how he exported from finalcut as .file this clip is 23mb and will play in quicktime, but it cant be uploaded anywhere and premiere pro cs4 wont even recognize it.
oh and btw im not trying to be a dick and use the clip he told me not to, its just cuz his imac hdd crashed and we lost a whole seasons worth of footy, so this is one of the few shots I have.
so ya, if anyone has any idea as to how i can get this in an editable format, please let me know! if its too complicated to explain I could send someone the clip and toss you some karma to convert it. And i dont have quiktime pro so i cant just export from that.

Change the file extension from .file to .mov
I'm assuming the file is named something like "filename.file". You should rightclick on the file and then click rename and change the extension from "filename.file" to "filename.mov". Also, are you on a PC or a Mac?
Ahh too late. Glad you got it figured out.
