Become computer admin

So this past tuesday night, a nasty trojan finished off my beat as fuck computer. I'm quite technically savvy, so I don't really need any advice on how to fix that.(it was the win98.exe virus, complete 3rd person control of comp) Anyhow, what I do need help with is becoming the admin of my friends computer. His mom, who is a technical moron, is the current admin. She will get all sketched out if I ask her for the password, so I either need an app to bash her pass or a workaround to become the admin. The account I have access to is labeled as "limited," as in I can't do jack shit to spruce this baby up. So, now that your work is cut out for you, suggest away.

windows ex-pee, I just realized a gatebasher won't work b/c its a pain in the ass to load an app from the welcome screen, if doable at all. There's gotta be a workaround, come on you techies.

A group of skiers ranging from 14-19 (mostly) are not going to have an answer.  I seriously suggest going to a more computer oriented forum.  The only reply you are going to get will be: "Get a mac, should have had a Mac."

Have you tried safe mode and a removal tool? Obviously without networking.

Run Ophcrack on it. There's a live CD you can boot to and crack the password that way. http://ophcrack.sourceforge.net/

If you're impatient, run Offline NT Password & Registry Editor. http://home.eunet.no/pnordahl/ntpasswd/

Download the ISO, burn, and boot. It will drop you into DOS, where you can clear the admin password.

I should add, if it takes too long to run Ophcrack (e.g. his mom is coming home), you can always grab the NTLM password with Offline NT Password Recovery and run Ophcrack against the encrypted password as an offline attack.
