Who the hell is Simon Dumont?

I don't really support the gangster phase in skiing, but I have no problem with it either unless something like this happens.  The tall tee gangster thing hit skiing very abruptly, and most pros made the decision to either follow the g phase or to keep on wearing clothes that fit. watch any Simon Dumont edit before this and you will se that he chose not to be gangster.  IT IS SO GAY THAT HE CHANGED TO A "TALL TEE SKIER" JUST TO FIT IN.

I am in absolutely no way saying that people that wear tall tees are fags, or that Simon is not an incredible skier, but his change is so obviously just to fit in that I had to say something.

yeah let me correct myself on the tall tees. I wasn't referring to him specifically wearing tall tees, i just meant the gangster phase in general

To the creator, Simon actually thought he was pretty badass early in his career.  I don't think I am slandering his reputation by saying that, it seemed pretty true.  The thing is, about 5 years ago being "thug" was more about wearing big puffies than tall-Ts.  I generally agree with most of your post and dislike the style, though nothing personal against anyone who wears one.  I am sure there are lots of people I would like as a person though they like clothes I dislike.  But I do think this particular video was a joke, Nomensteven is correct that it starts out as a joke until people take themselves a bit too seriously.  Example, Henrik Harlaut (sp?) in his interview on here says he enjoys the culture of rap and wants to imitate it; not just the clothing but other aspects too.  That is what is sad.

honestly i liked this edit quite a bit. i do agree that just changing to look cool is fucking stupid, and characteristic of a 14 year old girl, but the skiing was dope. and thats all that matters to me.

ya at windells sesh 4 when all the pros were hitting the big jump everyone did dubs except simon. He tried a bunch of times but would pussy out on the second cork. He threw his pole maybe 50 yards cus he was so pissed.

hes a crazy good skier tho, there isnt a doubt about that

when you go so long not trying anything new it is hard to progress quickly. still the best all around skier, has the best style and grabs, and an uncanny air sense. can you cork 3 and switch 3 like him, thats what makes him good, not because he can throw dub corks all unsteezy like.

He "tried to hard" when he pretty much said "I don't do rails anymore, i need to start again". But that needed to happen. His clothes have never fitted properly so idc about that. The edit that put him back on the map for me as well rounded was his JOSS with Tammy. That as well as some backcountry shots of him i saw really made me re-think my point of view on him. Yay Simon.

Yeah its a good thing he can't double cork it gets boring watching everyone just throw double cork 12 mutes all day long, i bet hel be the only person to not throw a dub cork at this years x games big air unless jon is there.

Okay.  Here goes.

1. He's wearing the same shit he's been wearing for 3 years.  But,

1a.  Who the fuck cares what he's wearing?

2.  The "hyphy" shit in this edit is clearly a joke.  I think it's pretty funny.

3.  The skiing in this edit is pretty sick.  And last time I checked, THAT WAS THE IMPORTANT PART.  We never see Simon hit rails, ever.  Well, maybe very rarely.  And now he decides to start hitting them and guess what?  He's better than most of us.  That's called talent, and he's got it out the ass.

4.  Who cares if he can't double cork?  He's got the sickest cork 3 I've ever seen.  Although Durtschi's is pretty ill.  But anyway, he's also got the sickest superman double front ever.  It didn't deserve to win the X Games, but we all know that X is a big fat joke anyway.  My point is, he's got a sick style that many people would kill for.  It's not required that he do double cork.
