Actually, as far as skiing is concerned, it was originally called a "Mobius". That's what a full twisting back flip was called when guys first started doing it on skis. I got nothing but love for anyone trying to do that on a motocross bike. Pastrana's the shit and he is definitely a few tacos short of combo plate.
To the author of this thread: this was a HORRIBLE post. a) you are trying to insult a guy who does 10x crazier things than you do. He is ridiculous. 2) You tried to make fun of his nomenclature, when you in fact have no clue what you are talking about. You tried to call a backflip with a 360 a corked spin, that is heinously wrong. Next time get your material right while being lame. What you are referring to is now termed a D-Spin, a backflip with a 360. You don't go inverted on a cork...
im pretty sure travis has a cork 7 (dspinish) and a rodeo 7... the shots they have been showing in the foampit is the rodeo, but ive seen him do a cork 7 as well... i have a feeling we will be seeing the rodeo tonight... not 100% on this, but im pretty sure.
whatever he does, will be amazing... not to mention loza and the 2 dudes that will be throwing front flips... sure to be a good comp.
on this subject. In every other extreme sport(where applicable snowboarding unfortunately isn't) switch=unatural, backwards=fakie, if anyone is going to moan about other sports misnaming things then it shouldnt be a skiier.
TO the original poster: why did you contradict yourself in your original post? you said "what is a 360 backflip" then you said "does he mean a cork 7" where did you get the other 360 from? just wondering on your logic and why you are so tarded.
pastranas back 3 looks nothing like a cork 7. he does like a straight backflip then when hes done with about 3/4 of the backflip he somehow whips around a 3. It is insane something completely new. He is not copying out shit and it is super sick...watch it on the x-games right now
The Mountain is Where We Live, The Mountain is What We Do.
because a backflip 360 is a rodeo 720..
imagine doing just a backflip. now, think about the rotation... did you actually just to a 360 degree rotation on a different axis? yes. backflip (360) + 360 = 720
- aspirin is perfectly legal, but if you take 13 of them motherfuckers it'll be your last headache.
x2. Not only is it absurd, but it is also highly ironic. Afterbang? What the fuck is afterbang? Oh yes, it's rideaway. Which began with snowboarding. We then proceeded to change its name to "afterbang".
Nor is his backflip, it's off-axis. He goes fully inverted when he sets it wrong. If you notice in that foam pit video, everytime he goes full inverted he doesn't come around all the way. In the X games he set full inverted and wrecked extra-hard.
"I had to hunt down Pretty Ricky and steal back our Doritos."
I don't understand what you're saying here. He tried to go fully inverted and he crashed. Are you saying that if he didn't try to go fully inverted he would land or that he screwed up his own trick? Or, are you saying that you know how to do his own tricks and he doesn't?
he can name it whatever the fuck he wants. he is the first one to attempt it, so he has the right to name it. he isn't going to call it a cork 7 because it looks kind of like a cork 7 on skis. this is fmx not skiing.
i was watching the x games and i was so pissed because the names of the tricks are retardedto make them sound better like if someone does a cork 260 they will call it a 180 to can can 180 and all that shit
