Ski Socks

searchbarred, and found a thread 4 years old, so i dont know if ski sock technology has advanced or anything haha

but anyway, what are some socks that you guys wear, and how much do they run?
ive just used underarmour and nike calf socks, and have never tried out any "ski-specific" socks, and im looking for some input

i have fuxi racing socks, fuxi gave them to me when i was at hood.

Definitely FoxRiver. Best ski socks on Earth. Usually you candfind them at your local shop, but if not, REI always has them in stock. They make a bunch of different varieties -- you can get thicker socks for colder days or thinner socks if you, like most, value your boot fit. Also awesome, they have a R and an L on them so you know which sock goes on which foot. Haha. Anyway, definitely look into FoxRiver.

smartwools- they come in different thicknesses, and are super comfortable. as well as warm.

i buy the thinest mens dress socks i can find they come up higher than my boot and i really like the thin sock plus there super cheap so you cant go wrong.

haha, hes such a douche, but its great cause hes austrian

i usually wear DeFeet's wool ski socks or the thinest possible sock from Lorepen. i've tried the Fox River socks and they've failed on several occaisions. punched through the toes on two pair and wore out the ankle on another.

i used to wear some under armour socks but this year i got a pair of smart wools for christmas and they are so much warmer than the ua's and so much more comfortable. which means no more cold feet on those long days!

i had some smartwool ones that i really liked, but i was in need of new socks so i decided to try under armor's ski socks...i love them.  they have a little extra padding in contact areas like the shin, ankle, and heels, and i can really tell a difference with/without that tiny bit of extra padding

IMO, just try on a few pairs and get what feels best.  When I went to Evo to try on some boots I bought a pair of blue w/other colors and EVO in green a million times on them and they seem perfect.  But generally if everybody with a boot fit similar to you(either tight or comfort) likes a certain sock you can bet you will too.

I have been using X-Socks Ski Discovery and just bought a bunch of stuff from backcountry.com They had Smartwool socks cheap so I picked uyp 5 pairs - hope they are cool!
