So.. im like.. 155sm tall... (or short hah) and i want skis for park mostly... and i have no idea what should i look for... i was going to get some ARWs (like a sponsorship from a lockal store) but i think 161 is too much for me... .. a friend of myne said rossi's are good.. mmm i realy dont know.. those are the first skis im going to buy .. i have some old second hand volkls ... kind of the only option a year ago for the money i had....
Keep in mind you don't have to buy women's skis. Take a look at invaders, afterbangs, line shadow (girl park ski), k2 silencers or next years ext's or whatever they are. There's a lot of park skis you can look at, like a whole lot.
the guy who told me to look for rossignol said thet he dont like line couse they are to soft and thats not that good for landing tricks.. he said a bit harder is better and easyer to land .. dunno.. is that true? and how tall should skis be? shorter or taller than you?
symmetric skis mean that the dimmensions of the skis are the same forward as backwards. this means it has the same turning ability if you are going forward or switch. meaning it is easier for most people to ride switch with a symmetric ski but you can do it without.
If you do get a symmetric ski you will need to centermount it so if you dont want to do that then I would go with something other than a symmetric ski
if you are going to be skiing only park then I would say yeah centermount but in all reality it is personal opinion. Some people will only centermount and some people will never centermount. One way is not better than the other. Many of pros dont center mount but then again many of them do.
What centermounting does is gives you a balanced experience to the front and back. Same weight, turning ability (symetric ski) etc. But in reality it is all up to you and your personal preference
ok im thinking of afterbangs(155) or dumont(151)
i like the afterbangs but im afraid if they're to soft for bigger jumps and i wanna jump and do some tricks so.. do you think they will be ok for that? and how abouth the dumonts? are they dood?
some other options i was looking Rossignol Scratch Girl FS(148 or 158?), Völkl Ledge (155)
are volkls good?
They won't be too soft for your first few years at least...when people talk about soft skis being too soft for jumps, they are usually talking about fairly large jumps and/or great amounts of spin or cork...other wise they would slide out on the landing...should be no problem for your first few years by which time (if you are really really into jumps) it will be time to get a new pair anyway...soft skis are very forgiving when starting out because you can butter out easier if you over or under rotate...hope this helps

Get 161 Invaders or the nearest size Afterbangs. Both are soft, but they have a wonderful flex pattern.
You don't have to worry about too soft, you are a small girl. From what I know, most people complain about Invaders being too soft on 50+ footers, throwing really hard too, so you should be just fine.
If you have never been on centermount, you have to completely rethink length and the flex pattern. You will have more power over a centered ski, so you can easily manipulate a longer plank. You will have longer tails, which can be twice as long as a conventional skis' tail. All of that tail will give you a great landing platform, so don't think you are more prone to washing out just because they are soft.
My first skis were 2nd gen 1080's size 151 mounted at recommended. Foam core and a far-back mounting meant that I had to stick the fuck out of whatever I was doing, because my tails were nothing to count on. 5 years later, I am on centered Bluehouse MR's, size 179. As a 5'10" kid, I would grab 'vaders/Bangs in the biggest size they come in.
