On What Grounds Do You Hand Out Karma??

Yup.

I hand it out whenever someone makes a great thread or a thoughtfull response. Ocassionally to the witty asshole comments here and there, and free karma to my friends too.

What do you do?

yes this is in NSG so it get more attention than in SD.

i give it for a thoughtful and useful post, or if someone makes me laugh really hard in a clever way

i detract it pretty rarely, you have to be a huge douche and do what i see as taking away from the forums instead of contributing. there are a few members that i can think of who do this and they are at 0

i dont rate karma that often, but to be honest im more likely to give -k than +k, and i only give -k when someones bein a doucher ya dig?

I give 10's or 0's
If someone makes me laugh/is helpfull or gives a good response, they get a 10.

It could be the very same person the next day who is a douchebag so i'll give him a 0.

I don't really use karma anymore.  I pretty much forgot about the whole karma system a month or two ago.  I do use karma as a system to test whether or not I make good or bad posts.  If I see it has gone down, I look back at what I posted, if I see it goes up, I know I'm doing something beneficial for the site.  I try not to make bad posts.

I dont really give out karma at all really unless somebody posts something useful or makes me lol out of my chair. I rate people down if they are being an ass,or just being plain stupid. Lets face about 75% of people on here take away karma then give it out.

I have shitty karma LoL, but i give a lot. If it in anyway helps me, or is really useful, thats a solid 10, but if it pisses me off a bit, or its really stupid, its 0. I can understand people being mad about repeat threads, but I dont hate on karma because of it. I dont see a real point in giving a 4,5, or 6, its not a real big diffrerence, either good or bad, thats the only need for karma, or if i know them ;)

for me, if someone says something blatantly stupid i'll give them a 0/10
if i disagree with something but its their opinion, i leave them alone, their entitled to it
also, if someone says something witty of thoughtful i normally give them a 10/10
there are no 3's or 7's on the JMKS (Jim Myler Karma Scale), just 0's and 10's

i think it should show whose rated you low so you can at least locate the thread or get a reason behind it, it might help douchebags improve and be less douchebaggish

10: Well thought out post that is helpful or brings a good point to a discussion and shows that the person at least thought about spelling and grammar or a clever joke and very rarely for someone posting something awesome but I almost never do since its usually a repost

0: For being a Douche in general, making a post that is completely irrelevant to a thread (like "this thread is gay"), someone who has ridiculously bad spelling and grammar (it bothers me so much, I don't mind the odd mistake but the your/you're and their/there/theyre mistakes are terrible, did you pass grade 4?) and if someone is either asking for karma, made a +k thread for a stupid reason, post whoring, is an alias and is promoting themselves or their own product
