But anyway today me and my freind were at the Diving boards any I was pulling phat shit like rodeo' sand underflips pluse I was doing a misty 7 safty, but i was try to do licoln loops but I always ened up doing rodeo's and shit so I try to focas on a point but that stil;l didn't work so does anywone know what I was doing wrong.??
meh
try and touch your shoulder to your foot, that's how i do them and it works good for me....and make sure you jump as high as you can before you start flippin, it makes it much easier.
ya I can do a licoln loop, but I can't do a straight one its aways a switch landing o well It looks better with a 180 any way just as long as people can't figure that I can't do them the simple way...
meh
yah i have that problem too....but it's because i tend to look down at the ground instead of straight ahead. For awhile could only slide rails to fakie.
Its so hard to do a lincon when standing forward on a diving board.. go to the end of the board and stand sideways like gonna do a kart weel.. then do a lincon..
I was just throwin lincolns on to my futon matress a few minutes ago. I could land on my knees and I am stoked b/c I never tried them before. I tried to touch my foot to my shoulder and focus straight ahead and IT WORKED.

Him: Do you cut off a dogs legs. Why the hell would I clip his wings!
dude, its all in the shoulders, just focus on making one shoulder go straight up and the other go straight down, don't focus on any point or anything with your eyes, in fact i closed mine when i was learning, its all in prompting the motion with your shoulders and tilting your head straight to the side
question. do you drift to the side at all when you do loops?

the easiest way i learned how to do them was, i spin over my left shoulder, so i throw my right arm up and reach over my head then bounce off to the left
I can do them on the Hill I just always do that extra 180 just before i land I dunno y i only tryed to I was trying to get my misty 7 lu kang down most of the time....
meh
I've never tried one except on a tramp... it seems to me that most riders throw them back more like a rodeo rather than just going straight over the top...... example:
Never mind that Jeff Thomas part, the skier is Greg Campbell....... but anyway! Is this the best way?

Yah, that looks like the same way i throw them...only i end up going to fakie. I find it hard to just focus on something ahead of me when when i'm moving, up, forward and down. I like the idea someone above had about just thinking about moving one shoulder up and then other down. I can work with that.
I couldnt do lincolns on the diving board for the longest time, its pretty wierd at first. My advice is to learn them on a tramp, really get the basic motion down. When youre feelin it go to the boards, really concentrate on staying on the cartwheel axis, and not doing the extra 180. Throwing your head towards your feet helps a lot too. Yesterday I had a great day on the boards, I learned so many tricks, and lincolns werent a problem anymore. I love goin to the pool, especially since I have so much more confidence now, and Ive watched so many vids that I can really see the trick in my mind. Good luck.

i learned from Mauro Nunez out at whistler last year that if you keep your head in front of your shoulder you won't do the extra 180 or flare... so keep your head in front of your shoulder don't put it back that helped me to get em.. and once u land one they are the easiest trick in the book as far as inverts go.. lol u can throw those with only like a 15ft table
The best I can say is to learn on the tramp first. Then go to the pool. It's the same motion, just different circumstances. For those of you who spin 180 during a loop, try this: Do the loop unaturaly. I had a problem with spining on my normals. Then my friend told me to try it the other way. It fixed the problem. It was weird at first, but no it is second nature. It's no longer unatural. It's the only way I do them now.
I just practiced them off a 6 ft platform onto a crashmat. They were easy. I just say what help me at first was kicking my leg straight over my head and focusing straight ahead. It help whip me hard around but without roatating spinwise!

The key to not spinning at all during a lincoln loop is where your eyes are focused.
Focus your eyes on a fixed point/object straight ahead of yourself. Then when you go to the lincoln, jump off and throw your shoulders like your normally do and keep your eyes focused on that point throughout the entire flip. I found imagining yourself holding a waterski rope can help also.
This probably should help fix it so you don't spin during a lincoln.

the real keay to not spinning a 180 after the lincoln loop (on a board and on skis) is to take off....then flip, if you start the rotation too early, you'll throw yourself off axis...(or it will eventually pull you off axis) so jump up and forward (to clear the board) then start your loop, once you get that going good...try for the double (it's really freakin hard, i can get 1 3/4 then i loose where i am and start to spin off axis...but i can kinda pull a double)
