Alright here is what you do. First you find out if you bought an extended warranty from the place you purchased from. Best for instance covers heat humidity and dust. What hapened is the fog machine did a couple of things. If you have a DLP TV you could have either 1. Fried the bulb- the intense heat of the bulb either blew up on conctact with the cold gas or it just seeped in and blew it our.2. You could have fried your motor and panel. If you bulb blew your looking at 150 for the bulb and then prob 200 to have a guy fix it. For the panel your talking at least 500 and another 500 to fix it. This is strait up pricing.
If you have a flat panel than you re even more screwed. If its and LCD the first thing that would og is the panel. Anm lcd panel for a 46 inch Samsung A550 caused 800 plus 500 to replace. If your running a plasma its probably the panel and or the color engine, You talking at least 500 for parts and another 500-700 dollars for service.
In conclusion, you better hope to god you bought a warranty andf that its not dead, because if you didnt its time to buy a new tv. A good 50 inch plasma your looking at around 1200- A good 52 LCD is arounf 1700- either way buy the damn warranty. I work at Best Buy and I can't tell you how many fucking TVs go bad within 5 years. Warranty will cost you like 170 bucks and you'll be starit.
\By the way don't even bother calling samsung-0 unless its a year old they won't cover it, and because its humidity its not theiur fault that your house wasn't dry enough. They're just gonna charge you 125 to look at it tand then tell you you need to spend a shitload more to get it fixed. Even if you get it fixed its probably getting towards the end of its lifespan anyway.
Hope I could help
i know that if you get an ipod or a cell phone wet you can put it in a bag of rice to draw out the moisture and that sometimes works.
could you get your hands on a really big bag of rice?
