Melted barring on longboard

i think this happened to me yesterday while we were longboarding down this long hill.  My friend was following me in his car and said i had just hit 20 when on the the wheels just jammed up.  Has anyone ever experienced anything similar? i was unware that it was possible

yeah my friends have had that happen to them. one time my wheel rolled off its truck because i was doing too many powerslides and the wheel got too hot and somehow went over the nut that holds it on. thankfully it happened after i bombed a hill but i was still going fast when it happened.

nice, ive had several broken balls in the bearing, but melting?
it could happen perhaps, afterall when youre bombing hills, i dont wanna know how many rpm those bearings go...
Maybe your grease burned up, that might clogg bearings as well...

yes, my friend was riding my board and i was riding my brothers, it jammed up and he flew off and tuck and rolled. i bassicly got new berrings wheels, hardwear. fuck stock shit dude

yea thats exactly what happened to me i'm not really sure if it melted but something fucked up.  board just stopped dead and i luckily got one step in and went into a roll.  somehow i managed to only get one scrap and a few bruises. 

Any recommendations on new hardware? i've got a sector 9

my wheel has fallen off twice now, i dont know why so i have given up on my board. My bearings have also jammed like you said.

or you could try some ceramics, the guy at the shop i bought my most recent board from had some...said he'd been running them for 2 years and they still felt brand new, you just have to clean them every now and then. i rode his board and he wasnt lying, they felt pretty damn good.
