Blue Mountain vs Moonstone

Hey, im just trying to figure out where to get a pass next year..blue or moonstone. I ususally ski at moonstone. Does anyone know a lot about blue mountain's park? I was there once this year and they wouldnt let me in the park because i was with my school (even though i got the park pass). And the side with hells half acre was closed too. So basically the whole day i only got to go in the lil kiddy park. So um anyway..to the point.. how is blue mountains park(s) comapred to moonstone ,is it worth the extra travel time, and is it always so damn cold up there? haha.

Blue is busy on weekends, yes. But the park will be nice. I was there at the end of march break - never more then 2 people in line in front of me at the badlands chair.

Yeah dude, blue's park line is NEVER big. That's the advantage of the park pass thing.
And we're going to make things OFF THE HOOK next year. Bigger, badder jumps, more rails set up in a line, rhythm section (maybe)
Biggest best jumps in the area, best maintained pipe, and better rails than whistler.
12'-12'-12' Flat-bar Double kink
42' double bar rainbow
12'-6'-12' tabletop (trapezoid) rail
40' double-bar
and many, many more...
Probably have 2 money jumps like this year. ie. double-takeoff in a line for two hits at 15'-30' and two hits at 40'-60'
Hips.... Maybe a quarter....
And we're hoping to build a step-up next year too. We had one at the end of the year, and some of the guys and I have been talking about throwing it in again as a regular park feature.
Anyways, if you live anywhere near Blue, it's silly to ski anywhere else. We've got the best park Southern Ontario will EVER see.
Yup.
Why can't we all just get along?

Ok, I didn't read anything above - but I know that whatever Doug said was good...
If you really care about a park at all you would go to Blue Mountain. It is now 1000 times better than any other hill in Ontario for park. There are never long lines in the Badlands park, the pipe is groomed everynight, superpipe comming soon (maybe as soon as this comming season), big ass jumps (biggest this year was a 50ft big air style kicker), crazy rails (40ft or something dumb like that double kink rail and many more), sound system throughout the park, inverts allowed (with a helmet), and a park pass system that preventst he total hacks from skiing the park and just makes everyone keep their heads up a bit more.
I was at moonstone once this year and the park etiquite there was TERRIBLE. Noone listened to anyways, people would hit jumps while there was someone lying on the landing (I was literally hitting them in the head with my pole as they were going over the jump), entire familys going to the top of jumps than starnding there not knowing how to get down, and so on... and they play the radio for their music.

yeah moonstone park manners bite ass. i crashed on this jump and darryl had his poles out to stop the boarders but they still came and tried to trample me.. fuckers... oh well and yeah blues lines are short and sweet and you got crazy people to watch, and some insane jumps and rails.. and there really isnt any boarder/skier competition going on. and everyone respects anyone's 'dropping in'calls. and if they dont they get out in their place by everyone until they do.

yea mike. I liked it only because the nice hip that was there. K theres this nice huge hip there. ad you can pull some huge ass crosses off of it. feels nice. until I started leaning forward in the air with my cross then I landed on my face first and my face was a ll cut up and shit.
yea but they have a spin there too I just clear it with a 180 and shit.lol
I like palm trees.
I like to ski, but I hate the freakin' cold. Us indian people weren't built for the cold. Why can't ski hills have palm trees?

yea..the thing is though... i have to take one of those coach busses up there and i plan on goin 1-2 days every weekend. It costs twice as much to go to blue mountain from newmarket as it does Moonstone and it takes twice as long...but after what iv heard about blue..i just cant decide now! aarrrgh!

now i'm starting to understand why emily refused to ski at boler... nothing in the hells half acre park is huge... or big - or small for that matter.. everything in that park is tiny. the jump has no lip on it, i accidently cleared the landing when gapping the spine going like super slow, and that hip is big enough for me to do a small air to fakie, everything else would just look rushed... it is NOT a huge hip. NOW - There WAS a hip in badlands that was preaty cool. It wasn't huge, but it was very kicky so you could get a lot of air off of it. One day we put a 5ft (maybe a bit less, but it was big) tombstone that was almost vertical ontop of the already kicky take off for the hip and we were going huge... one boarder maybe got like 18ft out of the hip (that's preaty high concidering the hip is only like 12ft tall). Badlands is a kickass park, everything else is just a waste of your time...
I really don't understand how a kid can think that a tiny hip is huge and awsome and at the same time learn how to spin 'clean off axis 900 grabs' while skiing Boler everyday off a small ghetto 5ft table...

that one time this year that i did go to blue mountain, the park didn't look THAT amazing. Like..the hip was very nice..but other than that..there were 2 tiny tables, a decent size table and a gap jump thingie. The pipes and rails are very impressive though!

yup Darryl.... I think you've probably seen martin... he's the dude rockin the snowplow in the pipe.
Get over it martin... nobodys gonna sponser you because you 'say' you can do 1080s. especially not here. hahaha did you even look at blue's park??? the hip was about 20 times bigger in the badlands.

I work on park staff at blue, so the other advantage is you have skier-friendly park techs.
Everything at blue is going to be built with skiers in mind next year too. Yet another reason to come...
And, if you've got a problem, just come find me and I'll fix it for you as fast as possible.
dude, no matter if it costs more and takes longer, blue is worth it.
It's the closest we've got to a pro park.
Plus, we've got a great scene going on there. The competitions next year are going to be off the hook!
Big events, big park, no snaking, small lines, skier friendly....
but slightly more expensive.
Is it even a choice?
Why can't we all just get along?

true..the season pass is only like $15 more... ya know what..i think i will...but damn... 2 hours of bus there...2 hours back..both days every weekend..i wouldnt get there till like noon. and im not an expert..actually im not that great at all..so would the park be to advanced for me? oh, and its prety cool that the park is skiier friendly unlike moonstone..where all the inruns for the rails are made for boarders!
-I know..i have so many questions..hehe :p

Moonstone.....Blue Mountian - hmm - with the park pass there is never a lot of ppl in the park at blue - but moonstones park is huge - the pipe 2 - and its not THAT buisy - hmm - like em both - but......Blue - more features

Blue is just going to get bigger next year.
don't worry about being 'ready' for the features. There's stuff of size for everybody. and it means you can get used to the bigger jumps too, which is good. You'll never see a tiny jump in a big air comp.

where did you get that pic? I took it! It was taken on January 16th for the 1st Orage Big Air. Think about it - we didnt get Blue open due to weather restrictions until Dec 16th - one month later, and the park looked like that! It was sick! Just a week or 2 after that shot was taken (In time for the Coors Light Winter Classic) There were suddenllt tonnes of rails above that jump and more tables / spines too.
There really is no question.
I was in Whistler last week, and heard people talking about the Blue park, and how sick it is (while in the Blackcomb park)!
I have shin bang....and it hurts so bad I cried.

Oh dude, that's NOTHING compared to what got going later in the season. After the coors light winter classic, there was a 25' tall hip there. Biggest hip I've ever hit.
And yeah, above that there was the 30'/50' big air jump, 15' table, hip, 42' rainbow, trapezoid rail, 10' high flatbar....
so that's not all we had to offer.
Why can't we all just get along?

I must agree that the mini-hip(spine?) was quite small...
the other parks are just to learn how to hit jumps, badlands is where it all goes down.
