UTAH SKIING IN JUNE!!!

I JUST FOUND A SPOT THAT IS ABOUT 35 MILES FROM PC THAT HAS A SHITLOAD OF SNOW.
WHEN I WAS UP THERE IT STARTED TO SNOW AGAIN!!!

That looks sick. the base of alta still has a ton of snow as well. and im guessing thats closer then wherever you were but i could be wrong.

If you are willing to work for it, you can usually ski into july up there. Here are a few photos from last
week. there are plenty of mountains back there that have never even been skied before.

yea i talked to you a couple of weeks ago.

IT'S SUPER SICK UP THERE. I'M RIGHT AT THE BASE OF THE HWY SO ITS ABOUT 25-30 MILES FOR ME. I HAVE SKINED UP THERE A FEW TIMES THIS WINTER. I ALSO TOOK MY SLED UP INTO M BASIN AND FOUND SOME SUPER SICK SHIT.

Click for larger imageIf you can link turns and dont need to set up a rail to have the attention span to go ski and its a big snow year you can still milk some turns out of alta august 4th.


and if you are super lucky it will snow a few inches september 1st  and you can ski then in alta on brand new snow. hopefully this year is like the last few and i can continue skiing every month of the year  with out making any expensive trips anywhere.

setting up a rail to have the attention span to ski? HATER ALERT HATER ALERT.

Rails are fun for some of us man, where does it say we have to only enjoy one aspect of the sport?

I'd love to ski legit pow lines, but I also like jibbing.

Let's get one thing straight, being on snow is what it comes down to, whether it's jibbing or pow. If you wanna hate on that maybe you should consider not posting anymore because 99% of us just love being on snow.

Hating is getting so old.

u just hated on me dude......

when you are young you have a short attention span, thus making jibbing rails alot of fun. when you get older you might realize you prefer to not jib the rail and stay focused on maybe going up to the top of the mountain to take in the view and sit down for a sandwich and a beer then ski down for a few consecutive minutes. i dont think i hated on anyone, or said that jibbing rails isnt skiing. so you could calm down and not hate on me hater. its getting old.

Dude in order to get to that rail we had to hike for about an hour, find the rail, set it up, consume a lot of beer in process, and hike down after we were done. It required a lot of patience and will power, especially since we were being eaten alive by mosquitos in the process. hitting a rail in july takes more then a short attention span.

ok so say its not july 16th, and its in august, there is one strip of snow left all of the way up alta or at the top of timp. are u hiking that rail up there, i dont think so. if you do congrats. then at that point i hope you desire to ski just to make a few turns. thats all im saying in my post. you jibbers really need to mellow out a bit im not hating on anybody for skiing on a rail. im saying there is time where you might not beable to hit a rail, and hopefully you want to just go turn. sans rail. see i used to hit rails too. and yes that would have been my motivation to go up to some snow back in the day would be to build a jump or hit a rail. I was just at Mammoth on Saturday and they could make it another two weeks no problem.  They only had  to push snow around the bottom of the mountain and there was a fair amount of snow left down there.  It also began to snow on Saturday, just a little dusting but I heard they received four inches a few nights before Saturday.  From about McCoy Station (mid-mountain) and up they had tons of snow left.  You could ski pretty much the entire top of the mountain without any issues.  They had their spring park and it was pretty good.  Super pipe with 22ft. walls, two dual takeoff jumps (20 & 30ft.) a 30ft. box and a 15ft. down rail (a little too short).  If they really wanted to, they could have easily had far bigger/more jumps and definitely more rails and boxes. 

When driving through Yosemite there were still a fair amount of mountains covered in snow that looked real fun to ski.  Some actually had some crazy chutes and what not.  I'll try and see if I have any good pictures and I'll post them up.

read it again, no hate on you. Simply broke it down that we all love being on snow, no matter what we might be doing on it.

Mighta misread your post myself, but the way it was phrased def came off in a negative manner.

Snow is god, pretty much all that matters :: )

New York has one of the shittiest skiing windows ever... This year was from like 2 weeks into Nov. to 2 weeks into March. Too much rain around where i live..
