Right now I'm mixing on a laptop with Virtual DJ, and don't have money to get myself a mixer or turntables, but I might in the future if I decide I want to get serious about it.
So what I'm trying to say is, how do I really get into being a DJ? There is a DJ school in Vancouver, but I've looked it up and it costs like $500 for 3 sessions and I don't have that kind of money.
Would asking an established DJ to mentor me or something be a better option? Do you think they'll be willing to teach me stuff, or will they be like "Go to DJ school and leave me alone"?
