Don't get a D60. Not worth it. I love my D40. IF you are getting a nikon, I would say either buy a D40, D80, D200, or D8, depending on what type of camera you are getting. Then get some lenses, the biggest problem with the D40, is that it doesn't have a motor in it, so make sure you only buy lenses that have a motor in them for auto focusing. Any lenses where the best lenses are older than the ones with motors in them, you will want to be manual focusing those anyways(Macro, telephoto)
Exactly. If you have the money, get the D80, if not, get the D40, or look into the canon side, maybe get a 30D, or even older, get a 20D. They are both good cameras, and since they have been replaced, they are way down in price on ebay, and you can get some that have been factory refurbished...good to go right there.
