Fucking cops.

So last night, i got in a fight with my bf, I drive home frustrated. I keep thinking like fuck i shouldn't speed to get home, and I get on the highway and i got an awesome bloody nose, so when i get about 3 miles from home i roll a stop sign and there was a car way off in the distance so i drive on the last rode that takes me home and its a 35, i go about 42 and there is a car right on my tail, brights in my mirrors andj ust riding my ass so i slow down so the fucker can pass me. Cop lights fucking flash. I get super nervous cause I have a flask under my seat. So the cop shows up, my nerves are shot from the erarlier fight i'm shaking i'm so nervous cause i'm broke and  i have blood running down my face.

The cop gets to my window and I was like, I was speeding so i could get home and take care of this, this is my one white shirt. and he asks me why didn't I stop and take care of it. I reply with does it look like i have anything to take care of it with you pulled me over 2 minutes before I get to my car. So my hand is now covered in blood and i get all of my paperwork to give him. He fucking gives me a ticket for rolling a stop sign more then a quarter mile after I rolled the fucker.

So i drive a stick I'm thinking i should fight it, ive never had a 75$ bloody nose before I'm so beyond pissed and so is my father. Fuckin pigs, they come in handy when you need them but they can bee assholes. Oh and my sweet white shirt has blood on it.

he gave me a ticket for rolling a stop sign yes, but i was seriously going so slow practiclly stopped, i always stop yet I had a bloody nose and I was trying to get home. he pulled me over for speeding afterwords I guess. THen gave me a ticket for the stop sign. yet i'm pretty sure I had a decent reason he just wanted to give me a ticket cause he is a fat asshole.

i was less then 2 minutes from home, my face and hand was coverd in blood, he should have just let me go to let me take care of it. He was in his car for like 15 minutes waiting for him to give me a fucking ticket. My house isn't in a town or near a highway, he pulled me over more then a quarter of a mile from where i rolled the sign. Its bullshit. I needed to go home, and hes a douche. and was a complete asshole.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that you're kind of being an asshole.  It's not like she straight up blew through the stop sign. At least she slowed down significantly.  It's not like she didn't have a reason to get home quickly.  If I had blood running down my face I'd be in a bit of a hurry too.  And unless you make a complete stop at ever stop sign and look both ways for a couple seconds... well you can pretty much shut the hell up and quit being a hypocrite.  You'd be pissed too if you got a $75 ticket for "rolling" through a stop sign. 

Good luck in traffic court.  If the judge has any sympathy he will drop it.

Exactly. Most good cops realize there is a gray area in the law. You have to take things as a case by case basis.

And besides, if it's late enough at night and no one is around, who the hell cares if you roll a stop sign?

Hes an asshole because he gave you a ticket for doing something wrong.

Having a reason for speeding and doing a rolling stop doesnt make it any more legal... If i speed because im late for work and get a ticket, i cant say "oh, that ass shouldnt have given me a ticket for speeding because if i didnt speed i would've been late..."




This is hardly an example of a cop being a douche. More of an example of you being in a shitty mood and overreacting.

you rolled a stop sign ( illegal ).

you were speeding ( illegal ).

you had a flask under your car seat ( all though he did not find it... illegal )

Exactly. This is like the cop that pulled someone over for speeding to the ER and made them wait while he looked up their info. Plus I have seen plenty of cops make illegal stops and right turns. No one is perfect.

it doesn't matter how far from home you are... i was arrested ACROSS THE STREET FROM MY APARTMENT for possession of marijuana- none of which i had smoked that night- after being DD and getting a car full of friends home safely. think the cops cared? they searched my car because it smelled like marijuana... after i passed a field sobriety test.

also, it takes a while for their car's computers to process your shit. i'm no fan of cops, but getting a ticket is NOT a quick activity.

you got a $75 ticket... big deal. sounds like you're just pissed about what happened with your boyfriend, the bloody nose sucked, and the ticket was the last straw... it sucks you had such a shitty night, but it's nobody's fault but your own that you couldn't take an extra 3 seconds to come to a complete stop.

I agree with that Steven dude with the rasta looking icon.  if you break the law, you break the law.  It does not matter why or how.  Yea it sucks that you had a fight with the bf and had a bloody nose.  But the law is the law, its there for a reason.  What if someone was coming and you rolled thru it but were too busy with your nose you hit someone?  Not saying it would, but what if?  Hes just doing his job, if you dont like, dont break the law.  Its that easy.  :)

i think you guys missed a point that are saying she is being stupid...  if i remember right i read that she said it was almost over a quarter mile AFTER she rolled the stop sign that she got pulled over and that the cop was tailgating her too.....

word. if you had a clear record and had been respectful, you wouldn't have gotten a ticket. i've talked myself out of a speeding ticket for over 30mph over the speed limit... a little blonde girl ought to be able to get out of rolling a stop sign with the right attitude no problem.

I can guarantee you were being a bitch about it. You even somewhat said it with "does it look like..." In your post. Yeah it sucks but respect them and they're USUALLY pretty nice. I just got off 105 in a 55 with a 71 in a 55. 4 points and no suspension. Simply respected the police officer during the traffic stop and court when I went. A good attitude goes a long way. Try having one next time. Rant/

it is ALL about attitude. Last night I got pulled over going 60-65 in a 40, after curfew, with expired insurance. And I got off without a ticket because i was kind, courteous, and remoreseful.

No i respect cops because they do, do good. I was cryign cause i was so close to home, my boyfriend and i were fighting.

its fucking stupid, i hardly ran that sign i putted super slow mo for like 3 seconds going like 5 feet. i never ever run any sign. argh, i'm just frusted he could be in town protecting the drunk ppl in the bars from being stupid, and there are like crazy ppl in this town he could give tickets to. fml

totally agree with u! it's so ennoying listening to people complain about cops on and on. cops are there to enforce laws and many of them risk their lives doing it. they deserve a hell of a lot more respect than they get.
*beezy sounds like a shitty nite, hopefully u can get it sorted out if you go to traffic court or something

i don't argue with people that have autorhity over me. I'm smarter then that. If i would have given him attitude he would of thought i was just some teenager going to a party and driving home drunk. like he was a dick to me. but i was not an ass or a bitch to him in anyway. I was crying and bleeding and just wanted to be home. I've gotten a speeding ticket before like a year ago. But really i was super polite, and at least he didn't give me two tickets but really, i'm a good fucking driver i always stop at that sign i even felt bad for rolling it after I did. there aer never any cops around but it never hurts to be safe

well how many DUI's do you think come from running stop signs?  I bet a lot do.  Maybe he was out trying to protect people from drunk drivers.  Just sit back and see what you did was wrong and thats that.  You did what you did, move on, lesson learned.

Personally i think the whole situation is fucked from the start. you shouldve blamed your bf for all this horrible excitement and reason you were in a rush to get home. so make him handle the ticket and it'll solve it all. Or you can fight this cause i KNOW the cop won't show up in court. I got a DUI with weed and alchohol in my system at the head of my drive way when i was 19. It happens, but you'll get it done and forget about it.

i'm going to have to go with everyone else and say you probably shouldnt have been speeding and you probably should have stopped at the stop sign

if cops make exceptions, then everyones going to just roll through stop signs, or everyone will speed. so then if everyone is allowed to speed, then when you blow buy a stop sign, you will complain like you are now. and if its alright to blow by stop signs then there will be a lot more accidents and all that.

Cops have to enforce things like this for safety, cuz if they let up, its going to get worse and worse and you going to end up killing someone becuase you do something that you think is no big deal.

I can relate to all but 6. Pisses me off when I get pulled over by my house and give me bullshit tickets. Nobody lives there, why enforce stupid laws in  the middle of the night when no one is anywhere near there.

Dude, I have a ton of respect for cops and what they do.  I know they often risk their lives and put themselves in dangerous situations.  However, I absolutely do not respect all police officers.  There are most certainly good cops and bad cops. Trust me I know, I hear stories from my brother who works with cops in my city as a 911 dispatcher.  I too know a quite a few cops and a lot of them are great people but, I've had run ins with both good cops and bad cops.  Some cops will take the whole situation into consideration when they go to write a citation.  Not just, "Hey they broke the law. I'm going to ruin their day now."  Some cops take stuff into consideration like: why the person did what they did, would they have done the same thing, is the person just looking for a favor, etc. Anyways, my point is that you can't say all cops deserve the same amount of credit.  Some of them are just assholes. From what I can tell, this cop sounds like he was just being an asshole.  Maybe he was having a bad night.

It's a bummer that you had a terrible night, and that the icing on the cake was getting a ticket. But, this post paints you as an incredibly entitled, self-absorbed brat. Laws don't get thrown out the window because you're having a shitty night.

You admittedly broke the law, and despite the fact that you had your own rationalization/justification, the cop simply did what he's paid to do.

The location of your house, its relative isolation, his weight, and the cost of the ticket are all completely irrelevant. Actually, bringing his weight into the picture is just straight up mean and suggests your overall bitchiness.

Also, you alluded to the fact that he pulling you over a quarter of a mile after the stop sign somehow made it less than legitimate... Well, it's pretty standard that a cop would tail you (close at that) for a short time to either 1.) run your plates to ensure that he wasn't about to approach a stolen vehicle and/or a vehicle that has an APB on it for involvement in a violent crime (looking out for his own safety), or 2.) To observe your driving for another minute or so to see if you are displaying any other telltale signs of DUI (erratic speed, crossing the center line, swerving/drifting etc.). There isn't a 10 second statute of limitations on traffic violations, hahaha.

You need to accept responsibility, take accountability, and stop pointing your finger at someone other than yourself. Remember...he didn't even give you a speeding ticket, or find your flask...you should consider yourself lucky.
