i used to know a guy who had one, and even after they dumb it down.. the car still hauled ass. a V8 in a car like that is such a waste to me but whatever floats your boat.

i currently have a mark2 jetta but its slowly turning into a shit box from lack of money and driving up a mountain daily.

im sure some car savvy person can add some more/ correct me if i get something wrong.

but i am reasonably sure they leave them pretty dang intact. aside from some engine tweaks to slow them down. yes the gas mileage sucked. if i remember right he got around 14mpg haha

I have raced modified supras/stis/evos. 2 porsche carrera s's, corvettes, just to name a few.  I have only lost once with that car. that much hp in a car that light are a deadly combination.

Beautiful car. The RX-7 had such good body lines.

I have a '91 Toyota MR2 Turbo. Most fun car I have ever driven. So lively in the turns and on an autocross course. It is very easy to get in too deep though and lose control in that car.

yea mr2's are notorious for snap oversteer. If you let off the throttle during a hard turn the car will just spin out, its ridiculous lol. I bet there are videos of it on youtube lol.
But the mr2 is def a nice car. super light=super fun

Heh, yeah, the snap oversteer is very prevelant in the 91's.

My only experience was at an autocross, came out of a turn at the top of 1st, while turning and accelerating I lifted to shift to 2nd, that alone was enough to send the car into a massive spin.

Very challenging car to drive aggressively, but when you get it right, it will RIP turns.

dude my friend has that exact car that u just described except its ferrari red. hes got the 5% tint and its fucking nuts. the downside is that you cant see shit at night, like its dangerous haha. but its fucking fast as hell. i recently found out that they dont make a manual transmission for it because the car shifts so fast that no person would be able to shift it fast enough manually. now thats fucking insane

No, the transmission is built into the rear axle, and has a paddle shifters because they are faster to shift than a manual transmission, and make more sense, as with any other supercar(minus a few). No human can shift AS fast as the paddle shifters.

You still don't have a clutch though.  Sure your zero to 60 will be like .2 seconds faster but you don't have full control over the car.  I got my GTI in 6 speed manual because even though the paddle shifters were impressive, manual is just way more FTW.  More fun too.

haha, i dont really have a dream car yet....dont know what is realistic...

but right now i have a silver 05 ford taurus with 70k...its silver. it can go 115 if i want it to until it governs...it isnt good on gas, but rarely has a problem ever. and it looks ok with a ski rack and some stickers so its my dream car til i make some real money.

i would like a skyline, im a big nissan fan. my dream would be a nice bmw or a mercedes i guess, my dad is a successful guy and he drives a company 08 ford fusion and a miata sooooo...im trying to be real as can be here.

It still has a clutch, which is activated while shifting. You do have full control over the car (even moreso because your hands don't need to leave the wheel, no missed shifts etc etc etc.)
you should know....VW's DSG is one of the best in the business (it has "two clutches"....btw..)
(i'm still a fan of reg. manual though.)

Well yeah it has a clutch but its not being controlled by your foot.  The DSG is incredible but the car is still jerky at low speeds like a regular automatic and parking still sucks.  And by more control over the car I ment you can't, for example, do a clutch kick.

I still have everything except for the cage, shotgun holder and im missing a section of the laptop holder because those were all unsafe in case of an accident. And under the hood it is the same as a cop, if i 1/4 milled it with a cop, it would run the same. And no difference with a mile run...nothing has been taken out.

Miata's are actually pretty fun little cars.  175ish hp on the new ones, RWD, light and pretty responsive, handles well for a convertable.  Awesome beginner car for drifting.

personally unless its something really really fancy like a Maserati Bentley lambo etc.. im always a bit skeptical of people thinking they are hot shit in their 3 series beemer. sure they may make some money, but to lease on of those things is not exactly a sign of great wealth...

my best rich guy car story is being about 10 and being in menards with my grandpa and this guy in jeans and a jean shirt comes over and says high to my grandpa, and my grandpa has me shake his hand, small talk ensues "this is my grandson, etc etc"  pay for all our stuff go out to the parking lot my grandpa's friend hops in his F150, we hop in my grandpa's truck.

the guy died with a net worth of 100m

i would rather be around this guy than some 28 yo in his 3 series BMW who thinks he's hot shit. hahah

look back to page 4. I posted a pic of my car with my brothers bus, that thing is so sick. I did the interior for him in all nice wood. It looks so good and gets so many looks. We used to drive it all the time to rockaway, brooklyn to go surfing. definitely in love with the bus
