This seems like a good time for some stats. For all this talk on every news channel about gay marriage and comparing it to the civil rights movement lets put some numbers to it. The U.S. Census tells us the homosexual population is roughly 4% (a number echoed by the Kinsey Reports). A 2003-2004 Gay/Lesbian Consumer Census reports that roughly 15 - 20 % of homosexuals choose to live in monogamous relationships and only 15% generally last more than 12 years (numbers that are way lower than heterosexual couples). 15% of 20% of 4%... let's see, what is that, just a little over 1/10th of 1% (0.12%) of the population? Seems like there are more important things to worry about.
This is not saying i am against gay marriage, I am agianst it being all over the news, in the papers, and in the states highest courts. Isnt there other things going on?
