i don't mean any hate, but the meaning of afterbang seems to be slipping. afterbang is by definition easy. what wallisch did on his sw 10 at the northstar dew tour, for example, isn't afterbang. afterbang is something added to make your landing look easy and relaxed, after you have already landed. like the brogan twist to the side (no hate). that's why they call it afterbang. it's after the trick is done--an ornament distinct from the trick itself.

Exactly; afterbang is, by definition " a desperate compensation for lack of style after landing". It's flailing a trick, barely landing, and then throwing down a "yo I'm actually super cool" pose as a joke afterwards.

The robot food snowboard movie crew who coined the term and made the movie over 8 years ago must be laughing their asses off at all these skier kids who are not only keeping their joke alive, but trying to claim it as their own and now, and, not even having the slightest clue what it actually means.

It's not about defending afterbang, it's about defending NS from redundant, worthless, trollish/hater threads.

In fact, most of the people who initially attacked the thread creator didn't even mention their "stance" on afterbang.

I do find it bizarre that people get so worked up over such a stupid thing...whether it be in support of, or against. What's so polarizing and controversial about "afterbang" that it demands to be debated over and over again?
