My dad needs your help NS!

Alright, so I wasn't going to do this, but I got requested by my dad twice now, so I think he really needs/wants this.

Here in Canada we have a show called the "Dragons' Den". It's a show where people come on and give a pitch about a company with a product they invented or whatever. People show up with all sorts of crazy stuff, and my dad is trying to get on the show.

His thing is called "Ski Lift Caddy" It's a plastic basket that goes on the safety bar of the chairlift to put your gloves, or whatever, in. He's had it as an actual product for close to a decade now, but due to bad luck has never really got it going. This is probably his last chance to get anywhere with the idea and HE NEEDS YOUR HELP!!!

 well if it used as a trash bin when the bar is raised itll come out. and having it come out in a net or something is alot better than it littering the mountain side up

voted! i always look like an idiot holding my gloves with my teeth when i need to change a song or make a call on the lift cuz im so scared they're gonna fall if i put em down or hold them with my knees lol great idea.

I know a lot of the Doppelmayr chairlifts have a spring loaded action on the back/side of the bar to allow the bar to automatically lift when people aren't on it and make sure the chair doesn't come round with the bar down and nail people trying to sit down. So it will only stay down if you rest on it or place your feet on the foot supports, pretty annoying at times so many just don't bother with the bar out of convenience as well as looking cool. They have a fair few of them in Whistler for sure... but I suppose on those you could place all your gear and see how much stuff you can remove without losing it, like buckaroo. But seriously reckon it is a good idea, only not suitable on a couple chairs.

where do you think people put their trash if they DONT have a basket or a thing like this? Anywhere. People litter. If they're willing to put trash in this, they'd be willing to toss trash off the lift, so it frankly wouldn't matter.

Yea, there ARE some chairs that the basket wouldn't work on. Whitewater (Nelson, BC) for example has old double chairs with fold in safety bars. The basket would no work on their two chairs.

that being said, Whitewater is small and they don't let you smoke on the lift so as to why you'd need to get your shit all over the place while doing up the chair is beyond me.

And I think that chairs with the bubble on them (Whistler has them, but I'm not sure how many hills have them?) might not fit the basket between the bar and the bubble.

thats a sick idea. voted. and for the spring loaded bars you could put a cover over the basket. it could also keep your gloves warm when you take them of.

Voted.  Props to your dad for sticking with this.  Trust me, it's tough to stay motivated for that long even if you are convinced your idea is brilliant.  I hope this works out for him and it really is a great idea and very practical.  I really need a place to put my gloves when I have to open up the family sized can of whoopass on my guys.
