Predictions for when it will be legalized

I think in Canada within the next 20 years, and I think Obama will take steps to make it less of a problem, possibly end the drug wars but still keep it illegal, maybe like alcohol, no using until you are 21. Or at least decriminalize it

Will definitely happen in our lifetime. I've said it to my parents, I've said it to my grandparents, I've said it to my teachers. It WILL happen, sooner than you think. It's already decriminalized in Canada, but in order for us to get anywhere our pussy ass government have to hold our own, back it up with studies and facts, and not allow foreign countries to extradite our citizens like what the BC3 are going through right now.

It might happen in our lifetimes, but I fear that the push for legalization of medical marijuana will marginalize the push for outright legalization.

well i dont think its gana happen anytime soon but places like hawaii have made it leagal to cary under a pound around wherever u want and it is also leagal if you are over 18 or 21 i forget to have a maximum of 9 plants. but also places like mass have a bill making cannibus stores like the ones in california so they can tax it

i think that canada is well on their way for it to happen im not really too informed on the U.S situation but i think if canada does get it legalizef the U.S will be soon to follow

i dont think it iwll be legallized until the government finds a way to regulate it and make some sort of money off of it. plus the older generations are so against it i guess when are generation is in the gov't and stuff maybe then

Decriminalized and not giving a shit are two different things.

But what I've been saying lately is that if Obama gets elected for a second term and doesn't make it a priority to legalize marijuana at least on the medicinal side then I will lose all hope in legalization.

I don't really care if it is illegal or not. I can currently get my hands on abundant quantities of AAA high grade dope whenever I want. I have never had any issues with the law. I've been caught with pot by the po-lice, and never been charged or anything like that (even before the decriminalization). It's no secret to my parents that I smoke, and they don't care.

If the government starts growing and selling pot, would they outlaw "underground" dealers like the honest folk we buy from now?

The gov't would probably grow shitty dope, and charge us up the ass for it.

and decriminalization is the most asinine idea ever, "lets legalize the crime but not legalize the product" are you fucking stupid, basically all that says to a drug dealer is congrats we have made it legal for you to do what you do. but dont worry about taxes or anything.

canada will see legalization in my lifetime, the USA will not, your country is hardly ready for it,

plus you all spend so much time on legalizing weed but have no healthcare system. gotta get the infrastructure of a successfull nation before you can move on to luxuries like marijuana

i'm canadian, and im referring to the canadian government needing to man the fuck up and just legalize it and not give in to american pressure. i LIVE in vancouver and have met emery and his wife at CCHQ (/claim)

although, im not gonna lie, i kinda like the status quo here in BC. who knows what the governemtn restrictions will be if it's legalized

i live in toronto so its pretty much as liberal here when it comes to pot as it is in van, i feel no issues walking up the street smoking a doob at yonge and dundas (busiest downtown intersection in canada)

the status quo is pretty good, its not legal, but your not really going to get shit for it unless your making mad money.
it almost seems like a dont ask dont tell deal, like a teenager with their parents. thats how canada is with weed legalization could lead to limits on how much you have, taxes, grow permits or other bullshit. its a logistical nightmare to legalize a product which is why it will take a few years and our gov is likely stupid enough to do decriminilaztion for a year or two before they go the legalize and regulate route

i highly doubt it will be legalized in Canada. Not with a conservative government. As much as people think that Canada doesn't give a shit about weed, it dosen't matter what the populous thinks, but what the government does and the police. So unless the Marijuana party gets elected, I highly doubt that there will be any legalization of pot anytime soon.

yea legalization will definately not happen with the conservatives in canada. but more and more parties are starting to be for it, like obviously liberals, now NDP and Green Party. so i think its possible even with a minority government.

I don't know when it will be legalized in the US. I mean why not, at my school like atleast half the students and staff smoke it. When we have a 2 hour delay in the winter you walk into some teacher's rooms and it reeks of pot. How I love Boone.

i think within the next 5 years we will see some major progress, i mean there is so many reasons to legalize it and the government would make billions witch is much needed. medicine, hemp laws, religous purposes and it has proven to be basically harmless. it would be stupid to not legalize it imo

I'm turning 22 on monday. It's not that they don't necessarily care, but I was successful in high school and I'm doing well in university while being a habitual chronic smoker. They have never caught me directly, but it has come up in conversations and I've admitted to smoking, and they have no problem with it.

There are some idiots out there who smoke way too much chronic and do way too little with their lives at a young age, mortgaging their future selves.

My parents did give a shit when I was in high school, and I guarantee that if my grades had slipped they wouldn't be alright with my habits.

We care because over 800,000 people get arrested each year just for smoking ganj. It's completely asinine why it's not legal yet. There's too much research out there stating the benefits of marijuana and practically every single study done on in says its less harmful than tobacco and alcohol.
