Info on bindings (+karma for all info)

So this is more toward the review side i guess. I am looking for bindings for my new P4's i just picked up and i'm not sure which bindings to get for them. I'm looking at the griffons or the jesters, also the px12's or px14's or the salomon sth's. i dont really need a high din but i would rather spend a little more and get a durable binding thats gonna last me a few seasons. I have px14ti's on my skis right now and have no complaints but i'm looking for something a little lighter for the P4's so if you've skied on any of these hit me with a little review on them! thank you! +karma do anyone who gives a good response

I have STH 16's on my skis and really like them...  They are around 5lbs/pair, light for a beefy binding.  The STH 14 are super light, but I can't speak to their durability..

I've had p14's, Jesters, and salomon 914's. I think you pretty much answered your own question:
-dont need an overly high din
-dont mind paying a little more
-want something durable
-light

you just described the griffon to a tee. That being said, it is a great binding. i've been rocking jesters all season and my friend has been rocking griffons. both are holding up great, both are super light. go griffon and forget it.

fks are pretty much what you're looking for, they will last you forever and if you get 120's they'll be pretty light. they're not super high din but they're indestructible and they'll last you forever

thanks aoe! my only reservation on the griffon is they don't have adjustable toe heights, so people have complained about there being play in the toe, have you noticed that at all?

People on here love the durability of the STH 16 and STH 14 driver. I have no idea how much it weighs though...

I have Jesters on my Bacons, so not a park ski, but they are doing really well, and are much lighter than the PX12s on my invaders. They feel WAY lighter. The Griffon is even lighter but has more plastic in it so lots of people shy away from them for that reason. I haven't heard of many people actually breaking theirs though...

I just picked up Deadbolt 18's but haven't used them yet.  I've heard tons of good things about the Deadbolt/Mojo/Peak/Amplid(?) bindings.  They all use the Tyrolia platform.  I figure if Jon Olsson (using them for years), Tanner Hall (just switched.  used to use FKS), Eric Hjor....(was a die-hard 916 user) all use them, then they should hold up to anything I'm going to be putting them through.  The 15/18 use the same heel/toe peice but the 12 is a little different.

Never had a problem. I think most boots are fine. And someone mentioned fks. Great binding, but they're not light.

Wow, weird. They actually felt a fair bit heavier just comparing the feel of them. I would have said at least  .5lbs more each binding.

I think it's the toe piece. Different than the regular one. I think it's full metal? I bet if you search barred it you'd find a legit answer.

Fks are probably NS's favorite binding because they are pretty much bomb-proof and they have the turntable heel. Keep in mind I don't own these and am just saying what I've heard. Trust someone else's opinion over mine.

i always thought the driver had 4 screws in the toe whereas the regular only had 3, maybe i'm wrong but i was under the impression the driver was basically a 14 din version of the sth 16

I would go with griffons. Mine have been super durable and are very light as well.

px12 jib very durable good binding but are a bit on the heavy side but i do not think that binding weight effects swing wieght but i could be wrong

yeah px12 jibs are really good and pretty cheap i have had mine for this past season and their still perfect.

i have the rossignol axial 2 120's and love them! they click in very nicely in all types of snow, and never prereales..
also got the sth 12 and they are dope too1
both very solid bindings, and wud recommen either one of them!
