be more specific, are you burning a copy of a dvd, or are you burning a downloaded movie file or image to a dvd or cd?

Either case, Nero will do it all. Grab it from TPB or just get the demo if you're weary of using pirated software.

Thats a different question. Burning a movie from a file to a disc and ripping a file off a disc are two different things.

In which case, if you do not own legal rights to copy the DVD, you should not be doing it. Now since most people don't care about that, you need a DVD ripping program, which is easier said than done. And once again Google is your friend.

A good version of nero will let you burn dvds, or at least make an image of said DVD to be burnt onto a fresh disc

so once i have it ripped on my computer what program do i need to put it on a blank dvd

download dvd shrink, open the CD with this, backup the CD, and it will burn instantly with your default burning software.
