Whistler Summer park

I am coming out this July to ski five days. A few years ago i came out for summer camp at sms, but i can't remember what the public park was like. what has it been like in the past few summers? thanks a lot.

what is considered a "small" jump? don't they also have a public half pipe?

not sure if the public pipe will survive until July. and the jump was like 15ft last time I was there.

also if you're going at the end of July you might be able to get some of the camps left overs (nothing that spectacular) but still fun times.

Definitely nothing special, but it makes for some really fun sessions in the warm slush with soft landings and no consequences if you hurt yourself. You'd have months to recover before the season begins again.

They had (at the end of June last year) one maybe 15-20 foot jump, a couple 5-10 foot ones, a raised box, some sort of kinked box maybe, a street down box, a couple down rails, the pipe, and some baby jibs.

I was so confused today when i went up whis and the whole park was gone. It was a bitch to have to transfer all the way over to blackcomb to find the park...

ya the whole whistler park is gone, like nothing is left. Ya i would have taken the p2p but my buddy didn't have a pass for it.

they moved the blackcomb park for spring to jersey cream. anyone know when they'll be doing that this year?

ya the blackcomb park right now was ok.... nothing special, the jump line along the left was pretty decent but a lot of the rails and boxes were pretty generic. No word as of yet to when they are going to put the park into jersey though.

IMO the whistler park was way more fun.

Damn, i thought the jersey cream park would be up by now, but yeah whistler definately had a better park, it was way more flowy too

Tomorrow is the orage masters up there, so it'll definitely be worth checking out.

And last year the park moved to Jersey Cream because they were working on P2P stuff and all that junk. It wasn't meant to be a yearly thing I don't think. If they were doing that they would have done it by now, because the masters course was off Jersey Cream, not in the Highest Level park like it will be tomorrow.

And I definitely agree about Whistler's park. So much fun, and the rhythm was right so you could hit almost every feature...

ive alwaysliek blue park better, and have yet to get into HL

but yeah no jersey cream park this year, and i have heard a rumor no puplic summer park.

is the summer park serviced by any of the rope tows is it it mostly hiking? do the camps leave their stuff up after they close down? i'm going in mid-late july.

Some of the camps might leave some stuff up, but I don't think they all do. It is serviced by a t-bar, so you don't technically have to hike at all.

last year COC left a few jumps and their pipe for like week after they were done, they were kinda fun but obviously nothing compared to what they had when the camp was open

Hey guys I wanna come up May 26-Jun3 but I have no idea what there will be then. If they reopen Whistler will there be a park? I kind of doubt it now that I hear that it was dismantled. :(

Any ideas where to get decently affordable accomodation?

Also what was the closing date last year and what's the outlook for Whistler reopening this year? I dont wanna book all my flights and stuff and lose out!

Much thanks in advance for the run down on skiing in late May and early June.

PS is it only Whistler that would reopen or does Horstman glacier and top of Blackcomb stay open too???

if whistler reopens on may 19, which i think it will, i've heard they will be putting the park on the t-bars like they did 5 years ago. gunn abe siiiiiiick

Man having a T-bar dedicated to the park would be sweet. I am from Winnipeg coming up in that time period so what kind of goodies could I expect? How many boxes/rails? Any tables???

I am so so so excited! Just 10 more days of hell preparing for exams and I can get my jib on!
