When i take a rail switch i spin left on to it and i ride like to feet of the rail and end up slideing left off the rail...any advise
make sure that your feet are centered on the rail. if you are off center you will slide off, i had that same problem. try to make sure your coming strait at the rail that helps too.

make sure you are coming straight at the rale and are turning a full 90 degrees for you slide
Dont get gloves though, gloves are out. just use a cigarette to keep your hands warm.
I had the same problem as you. The trick is waiting for a split second off the jump before you turn 90 degrees. This prevents you from carving off the lip and for some reason seems to lock you onto the rail. Give it a shot - once you get used to switch on its just as easy as straight.
yeah going straight at it is key, i kept coming in from an angle and basically spinning over the rail
