Easier access to skiing.
Sick little hill like 20-30 minutes form campus with a nice jump line, some rails and a massive halfpipe.
Sunshine is like an hour and a half away, and has a fairly nice park. Gets better throughout the year.
School is not as good.
Res sucks from what I've heard.
Little tougher to get to the skiing, but Whis has a much better, longer season.
Whis has a waaaaaaay better park.
Vancouver was voted the most liveable city in the world a few years back.
Vancouver is a culture and music centre of Canada, and of all the places I've been in the world, that is where I would choose to live.
Downside is a lot of rain.
School is rated extremely well, res rooms are quite nice, and the food is some of the best res food anywhere.
Campus at UBC is a lot nicer.
If you have any questions about the ski season in Calgary or what the city is like, feel free to ask. I'll do my best to answer but I definitely don't know everything and I can't speak as to what your experience at either school would be like. The school choice would also depend on what you're taking, as for some programs UofC and UBC would be about the same level.
What are you really looking for at university? Where are you coming from? What are you taking? Any extra information helps us help you.
