what to do about...
SHINBANG!!! Ouch, i got the worst shin bang ever yesterday. I though my legs were broken it hurt so bad. Cant walk today, much less ski. I've been icing and rubing stuff on them all day, but no bettter. Any suggestions on how to heal and/or prevent it?
Have you broken your leg in the past cause that really contributes to the pain
its probably the worst idea ive ever heard of..no joke..if u like broken bones and like..fucking Death then hell..have fun -Naturalbornskier
you'll just have to give it time..as far as I know for pain like that there is no actual treatment, but you can find stuff to ease pain...if you are having issue's with constantly banging your shins, I might recommend some shin-guards, although they do look pretty dumb...give it some time man..you'll be good to go
This stuff will help....weed.
only time will make it hurt less. In the mean time, try a softer flexing boot with a really tight cuff. If you can't get new boots, go to a bootfitter and ask for 'eliminators.'
so those 'eliminators' actually work?
'ghostdragon is like milk. sometimes when it sits too long in thr fridge it gets crusty things around the cap that sometimes fall into your glass when your not careful.' - cj
'if you love something, fuck it in the ass...if it screams, cries and bleeds toss it in the dumpster...if anything else, you've got yourself a keeper' - Alpentalik
yep, they work. They won't always make it not hurt, but they help in not making it any worse.
what are these 'eliminators'?
i was just gonna ask that

Bump, because this is damn important... one of my biggest problems rite now.
screw that, i like my boots, and i dont have the spare cash.
Eliminators are a medium density foam shaped just like the tongue of the boot that you put in your boot under the tongue. Really a simple concept, but can work wonders for some people. You should see a boot fitter if you want to soften your boots. There's stuff you can do to them to make life a lot more pleasant.
oh ya and they are about 15 mm's (3/4ths inch) thick.
another idea is to smash bambo poles against the shin, or repetadly kick a pole to toughen up the bone, like the movie kickboxing. Good luck with that.
